Hey everyone! Has anyone tried to dye/colour a silicone stp packer like the TSW line? I was interested in adding some colour to mine but wasn't sure how to go about it.
thanks!

Carbonated

I acctually tried coloring my RM basic packer a while ago, and it worked! I used a dark brown eyebrow pencil to make the balls and part of the shaft darker. A blue pencil of some sort for the veins. And last a dark pink lip pencil, I used it mainly to color the head and details but also a bit on the balls.
Since the colors don't stick well you can put on a lot of make up. At least I had to.

Afterwards i washed it gently with soap and cold water. The result was pretty good. The blue was very weak and dissapeared after about 2 washes but the pink color of the head was there for about a week before I decided to color it again.

I didn't think this would work, but it did!

Makeup will stick to silicone, but it needs to be sealed if you want it to stay permanently. A better alternative would be to use silicone-based paints, but those can be expensive and still require sealing. Sealant dries shiny,  so regardless of which option you choose-either the makeup+silicone sealant or the silicone paint+sealant-you will need to use matting agent. It's easy to mess up this part, which is why a lot of painted silicone prosthetics have shiny bits.

Try this kit for a reasonable sealant/matting combo: http://www.factor2.com/silicone_seal_p/564-kit.htm. That same site also sells $30 silicone pigment kits.

You can also go the intense DIY route discussed here: http://naomidlynch.com/2013/08/13/the-how-and-why-of-silicone-part-5/

Note though that only silicone sticks permanently to silicone. Unless it is sealed using an appropriate silicone-based sealant, whatever pigment you use will peel, flake or rub off. Plus, I don't think you want unsealed painted materials making constant skin contact.

I haven't tried this myself, though I keep meaning to.  It just seems like so much work. Heh.

Thank you! I went through several pages of google searches trying to figure this out!

Will this work on medical grade silicone?

I assume this is how most medical-grade prosthetics are colored.  I know that supplier is used by medical folks, and from the way the prosthetics from Emisil and such smell wen you first get them, I assume that the method described by Lynch was used.

Do you believe that it is worth asking for the identical total tsw or alone the axis in order that it seems to be more realistic? Or to ask for it without doing and then to seek to give him some type of color with these methods?
