It's a necessity for me too. No makeup, no passing.
I can't wait until I get to a point where makeup isn't necessary, because then I'd be using it not as a disguise, but as something to add a little color and depth to an already-female face. Makeup, when applied well, can make all the difference between looking good and looking really good. (Sadly, all too often makeup is badly or inappropriately applied - and I'm raising my own hand and owning up to that mistake.)
But it's expensive, time-consuming, messy, and the point at which it's considered some kind of requirement for being female, rather than being an option, is the point at which it becomes a massive pain in the ass for me.
