I'm starting estrogen and spiro as of an hour ago. My blood tests showed that my T level was around 200 to start with so I'm curious if anybody has had had a similar circumstance. I swear that I have started to develop breasts just with herbals and progesterone for 30 days. Anybody have similar?

Hi

Welcome to Susan's :) Great to have you here - looking forward to seeing you around the forum.

I had lowish T, and was also taking herbals, but I can guarantee you the developments you get on HRT is in a totally different category compared to the herbals.

Please check out the following links for general site info...

Hi there. My T levels were on the low end of normal to begin with. I started with just spiro and developed girl nipples after a month or so. A month later I started estrogen. I eased into it to make sure it was actually what I wanted. And hell, it so is!

Just make sure you talk with your doctor before anything, and never self-medicate!

Congratulations :)

I supplied the PA with an electronic record of a very recent blood test for life insurance but T was not defined. They started me on spiro and E then took a blood test at the 3 month mark and my total t was 20 ng/dl but I do not know the starting point.

I also had a T level of about 190 on that same scale that has the lowest end of the male range as 300... and I had fantastic results, like my body was starved for estrogen. :) Interestingly, I also had none of the symptoms that happen to a cis male with low T; I functioned just fine then (and on
HRT with it more like 35-50).

I had breast buds and soreness within 5 days, and visible breast growth after a couple weeks. Hopefully you'll be similar - it sounds promising so far!

I haven't started HRT yet, so I don't know my levels, but I do know that I'm very androgen insensitive. It's only really affected my face and hair. My facial hair has always been weak, though, but my hairline does recede. I think I was born XXY (mosaic), because my physical features aren't very masculine, and I'm sure that has to do with the androgen insensitivity. It's possible that I'm not particularly "low" in testosterone in comparison to average male biology, but that my levels developed naturally out of balance. I've always been far more emotionally sensitive, more feminine in behaviour, less interested in sexual conquest and more concerned with genuine connection. The times I've had aggressive outbursts were due to suppressing anxiety and frustration until it all came flooding out, and then I'd feel shaky and end up crying. I'd imagine that if I ever supplemented with Testosterone it would just disrupt my sanity in a similar way. Taking Estrogen would probably ease those moments of anxiety, reducing — if not eliminating — the angry outbursts. I think a lot of us probably have some deficiency in T, but it's no deciding factor in anything, and it's less likely that Estrogen will be problematic. Far from it.

Been just over a week and feeling good. Mood is generally better and chest is getting nice layer of tissue over the muscle. Thanks everybody for the input.

My T was about that level when I started, I guess it made suppressing it easier.
