Hello everyone!

I originally identified as FtM but now identify as non-binary. I have been on T for roughly four years and lately, the effects have been hitting that point where I am more than satisfied and would like to stop before any further changes occurs (such as male pattern baldness). I know they say hair loss never comes back but my hairline has shifted to a more masculine shape, does that mean the hairline receding is permanent or will it shift back to a more female pattern if I go off T? Websites have said that baldness is permanent but they never really say anything about hairlines...?

I am planning on going off T after top surgery but don't want to deal with periods until I get a hysterectomy so I am wondering if shifting a low dose of T would be possible in slowing the effects and keep the periods away at the same time. I am going to speak to my endo about this but wanted advice beforehand. Would going on a low-dose of T also allow some estrogen to soak back into my system?

You have asked a difficult question as everyone response to hormones is different.  Reducing to a lower dose have all the effects you want, still no periods, no more hair loss, etc.  Or you could have your periods start again or have break through bleeding at any time and still have the hair changes you are seeing now.  I would talk with your endoc doc and make your decision after getting their advice.

Oops, I didn't even think of it like that. Thanks I will ask them on the next appointment. I've been having really bad anger issues lately so that alone has made me want to go on a lower dose to see if the anger dissipates.
