I started my HRT 2.5 weeks ago, and so far everything is going well. My libido fell pretty quickly, and my nipples got pert and have stayed that way since about day five or so. But I feel great so far, and the psychological effect has been positive: I feel calmer and less prone to anger, with none of the emotional volatility I've heard estrogen can sometimes cause.

I'm currently taking weekly shots with the low dose form of Estradiol Valerate. I don't feel any pain after the injections, and completely forget I'm taking estrogen until it's time for the next shot. However I am considering switching to the high dose concentration (and injecting only 1/4 as much), because compounding pharmacies seem to offer much better deals on the higher concentrations.

I'm a little worried, though, about soreness at that strength, and also whether estradiol absorbs into the bloodstream at the same rate regardless of the concentration. I worry it might enter the bloodstream faster and leave faster at the higher strength.

Have any ladies had any experience using both dosage strengths?

Thanks!

I personally would run this by your prescribing physician. How are your lab result levels? That to me would provide a good point of reference as to what to do in this situation. Your Pharmacist may be able to answer this as well. Good luck!  :)

I've taken less and more. It shouldn't affect the rate of absorption/delivery, just that you're getting more estradiol into your system. Personally, when things are going well for me, I let things be.
I am not a medical doctor, nor a scientist - opinions expressed by me on the subject of HRT are merely based on my own review of some of the scientific literature over the last decade or so, on anecdotal evidence from women in various discussion forums that I have come across, and my personal experience

I would not alter your intake dosages/methods without talking to your doctor.
