http://www.phallo.net/surgeons/dr-loren-schechter.htm

I was wondering if anyone has any personal experiences because I have not seen any thus far. I'm interested in setting up a consult, so I messaged the contact info on his page asking about pictures of his results and was told they could not be shared prior to my consult due to confidentiality reasons. I'm slightly apprehensive to set up a consult with someone when I don't even know what to expect. He's also more than a few states away from me.

So, any insight?
Meow.

I saw on the page you linked that the initial consult was free and by phone?  Did they say you had to schedule in order to see the pictures?

Yeah, they said I would have to see them at the consultation. If the consultation is supposed to be over phone, that confuses me even further.

Well it's common for surgeons who don't know you to do a consult over the phone. It is an initial consult and nothing odd. If it's for meta they'd have you send pictures, but I don't suppose it matters too much for phallo. (Or perhaps so, no experience with this.)

Oh boy, I didn't know he did free consults. Sounds good. I am looking into someone for meta (though haven't decided even IF I want it).

A good doctor should help you feel at ease. It's normal to be nervous. Telling him up front you are nervous about it might be a good idea.

I'm not nervous about it other than not knowing anything about him as a surgeon.

Surgeries don't make me nervous, really, and I know this is necessary for me to move on with my life.

Sorry for the assumption. And kind of forgot actually this is lower surgery so you wouldn't mostly likely have that "first time surgery thing" going on.

It really disheartens me to know that no one seems to know any more about this guy than I do. The locality and the fact he's listed on Phallo.net seems promising, but the aesthetics are hugely important here. I was looking at Crane and not only is he on the other side of the country from me, but he also has a wait list that extends out for a year. Ideally, I would like something sooner.
Meow.

He seems like he has a low profile or something, because he has a very good reputation, but he doesn't seem to have a spotlight whatsoever. I do know someone with a consult, I believe. I would let you know.

Crane's office told you a year?  Wow.  I wonder if he is scheduling Medicare clients (thus the long wait...or maybe he has always had a long wait list).

It says that's the typical wait on his website somewhere, I believe. Either that or my parents are slipping further into insanity.

Nope that's accurate. He might be doing top surgery or simple metas faster, but the wait for anything with a UL is a year. If you call that's the answer you get.

More than a year actually. I had to give up on him simply because of the waiting time.
