I'm taking early childhood education (I'm going to be a teacher!), and I'm only out as trans to my teacher and two of my classmates. We were having a class discussion on prenatal things, and my teacher looks at me and is like, "How was it like when you were pregnant?"  And I was just like  O____O;;;  and the whole class just stared at me and I was like, 'Teacher, teacher, nooo' and she was confused and I'm like, 'I'm a guy, guys can't get pregnant' and I was so embarrassed I felt like throwing up. And the teacher was like, 'What? What did I---oh, OH. OH. IM SORRY'

And we took a short break just after the discussion and she dragged me out into the hall to apologize, and it was fine, like, she didn't mean any harm, but I was sooooo red. It was so awkward.

I feel for you, Rawb, how embarrassing you must have felt at the time and I can easily see how you were put to answer on the stop.  Were you dressed as the guy we see here?

Rawb

Yes. Literally yes, that's me in my avatar, and it's even the same tshirt I wore to class today.

Wow, that teacher had a real brain snap. Sorry to hear that happened to you but at least if the rest of the class only knows you as a guy they were probably wondering "WTF is she talking about? Has she lost a few marbles??" At least she apologised. She needs to write a hundred times on the board "Rawb is a BOY!".

Wooooow. I would've wanted to curl up into a ball and hope I can disappear.

Damn that sucks.

Keeping secrets is hard but important. Much fail.

Hopefully teacher can fix it up and be like, "sorry, I meant when your partner was pregnant" or something X_X

I was once sitting with my siblings and some of my mother's friends.  Mom wasn't there, and some of her friends were asking about our family.  So my sister said something to the effect that my brother was tacked on at the end, that my parents kept trying until they got a boy.  Of course, I'm sitting there, fully bearded, fully male, so they look at me like what?  And I just looked at them and said I apparently don't count for much.  I'm the problem child.  And let it drop. Awkward!  Sister didn't realize what she was saying; she was just relaying an often told family story...

Oh wow, Rawb, that sucks. Major fail on the teacher's part.

Come to think of it, it's a *very* odd and personal to ask *anybody* and most esp a trans guy.
I would never ask such a question to a person I didn't know very well. I mean ANYBODY. If there is a discussion and someone cares to talk about such a personal question, that's fine, but asking something like that is very odd.

Rawb, I am sorry.  That totally sucks.  It reminds me of times when people who hadn't gotten used to my pronouns would accidentally "out" me in the presence of strangers, who would look totally confused.  It felt like being naked in public.
