Okay once in awhile we all need to hear some good news and share the love and joy around
Day off today so I celebrated with a bit of retail therapy, (looking for a pair of glasses and sunglasses. No more clip ons).
So in my usual going out dress (close shave, jeans, top and converse) out I go. After the first two places getting either a hello mam and/or directly directing me to the female frames it was like, "oh okay this is new but very good". One did call me sir

. The penultimate place while not gendering me as such showed me the female frames as well
Then I struck real gold, platinum, rubies and oil all at once. Not only shown the female frames but all three staff where referring to me as her. (it was a bit of a culture shock, I expect it from friends but right now I'm like they're talking about me? Oh yeah they're talking about me

).
Cost of 2 pairs of glasses with health insurance: $60
Travel to the shops with transport card: $0
Making a girl's day: Priceless
Now to hit myself with the hockey stick of truth. "Do you have your health insurance card on you? " Not only do I only have a beaten up surf wallet, not a purse. My health insurance card has my full name, the first name being one of either gender but my middle Luke is one that I believe only guys have. I don't know what was freaking me out more at the time my wallet or my name. Thankfully they still used female pronouns after I showed my card.
So yeah while a purse and more clothes and better makeup skills would be nice (my backpack should last for a little while longer). I think something is telling me I need to get my paperwork fixed up yesterday. A fun day with a drastic realization by me, that I should be pulling my finger out, otherwise my body might just start moving faster then me.
