I've heard many things about T but one that gets me is exactly, not exactly but possibly, who I'll look like. I always think that when I start, I'll really be looking like my dad. I already look like a female(ish) version of him. Everyone actually mistakes us for each other since I cut my hair.

So anyway, will T just basically make me look more masculine or bring out a little of my dad in me? I know it probably sounds a bit childish, but I'm legitimate curious. In all reality, I'm hoping I don't get any more of my dad then I already have. He's hairless and short. I can't change height, but I want to be able to grow a beard!

Just curious, but what effects has it had on you? In regards to hair growth, weight, voice, muscle development, and just mood. I have no issue controlling my temper so far so I want to know how T can affect mood. I know it varies, but I'm curious. Good and/or bad I'd like to know.

It also depends on what genes you got from your mom. T only changes phenotype, not genotype. You may end up being pretty hairless like your dad or you may end up like the men on your mom's side of the family.
Personally, the men in my family are also pretty hairless in terms of body hair, so I'm also pretty hairless. I lost some weight, but that's probably due to changes in diet and exercise. My throat felt scratchy right away and noticeably started dropping after a few months, and muscle development is easier on T. As for mood, I didn't notice much of a change in temper, but I do feel better overall.

Well how I could turn out is kind of a funny topic we talk about. Men on my moms side, as for everybody on that side actually, are hairy. Like almost Sasquatch hairy. As for my dads side, they're pretty hairless.

My moms side is tall, my dads side is short. Tall as in we're all over 5'9"... I got my dads height and am currently stuck at 5"6-7... darn!

Attitude wise there is a BIG difference. Moms side tends to be more blunt, brash, in you face, ghetto you can say, loud, and generally more confident of themselves. my dads side is the more educated (unfortunately true), quiet, not as loud/rude, a big uptight and bougie, and simply, in simple terms, more sensible.

So everyone sort of gets a good laugh at how T can affect me because my moms and dads side are very different. I did pick up on the "confidence gene" we call it, shoe size (11-11 1/2 in womens), the blunt and brashness, the ghetto moments, I can be very sensible when time calls for it, and was raised to always show my manners around adults which is why anyone who knows me can commonly catch me holding the door open or helping with stuff with the older adults I don't even know!

I looked like my dad pre T and now I am on T for over a year, I do not feel I look like him more than I used to.
I have no had any facial hair at all, but it is probably genetic since I am Asian.
I did start to have hair on my belly, armpit and pubic area, no chest hair though.

It could go either way.  Pre-T, I looked pretty much nothing like my Dad.  After nearly 3 years on T, I look almost exactly like my Dad.

Hair growth: 

I started to get tiny black hairs at about 3 months - had fuzzy scruff under my chin and on my top lip at 5 months.  At almost 3 years, pretty thick black beard and stache.  Sideburns and beard on the sides of my cheeks are still coming in, so it can really take years.

Body hair-wise - nothing much.  I have a pretty thick and hairy snail trail on my belly - I've noticed my belly continues to get hairier (as in the hair from my snail trail is spreading outwards).  I have only tiny black hairs on my chest - nothing visible unless you get right up close.  Arm and leg hair thickened pretty decently.  Save the two random long, black hairs on my shoulders - no hair anywhere else.

Weight:

I gained about 11 kg on T (about 25 pounds).  That is counting muscle weight from working out.  I didn't get fat or anything like that.  My body fat has decreased.

Voice:

Noticed drops only because I was recording myself - first one at around 3 months, and a slow and gradual deepening over the next year.  Never had any of these "miraculous" sudden drops that people always go on about. 

Muscle development:

The only thing I noticed to begin with wasn't muscle development, but a change in my body shape due to body fat redistributing. 

My muscles remained the same as they had been pre-T until I started working out - only then did I see gains.

Mood:

I never experienced the "T rage" that is, IMHO, a myth that a lot of guys talk about.  I mellowed out and became so much more calm and less reactive.  Pre-T, I was a basket case.  Post-T, I'm a different person in many ways.

The one thing that I previously regarded as a myth, but one that I actually experienced, was the fact that I struggle to cry.

About six months in, for the record.

Hair:
More and longer body hair in general. Hairline has started shifting. Coarser/bushier eyebrows. A few actual coarse beard hairs, mostly plenty of long blond fluff. A fair haired equivalent of a teen dirt 'stache. Fluff-sideburns. The only place with substantial coarse hairs (as opposed to an increased quantity/length of fine hair) is under the navel.

*Weight/fat changes:
Noticeable loss of that allover estrogen-fueled subcutaneous fat, most easily noticeable on arms. Fat loss around the hip/buttock area. Not 100% sure where new fat is going, but it seems like it goes to my back and stomach now.

Voice:
Steadily, slowly dropped right from the beginning for about four months. Haven't noticed doodly squat for two months. It's in a teen male kind of range, complete with stupid sounds if I don't control my voice when I laugh.

*Muscle development:
Easily added noticeable muscle mass when I started lifting weights again. Still seeing much easier progress than pre-T as far as strength training goes, but not exactly heaping on muscle mass here. Then again, I'm not eating for that.

Mood:
Enormous change here. Top surgery alleviated a lot of stress and therefore improved my mood, but starting T had a big impact as well. Almost always in a genuinely good mood now, enjoy things more, and I don't think I've been full-on p---ed off since starting T. Emotional state is more stable in general. Things keep getting better the more my body looks and feels right.


*I regularly lift weights, do cardio, and eat a primarly minimally-processed foods diet. T is a powerful potentiator. I wouldn't get the same results with this lifestyle but without the T. Nor would the results be the same with the T but sitting around eating chips.

My parents are both deceased (given my age), there are just things I forgot to ask like "Daddy do you have a little ___________?" Be sure to ask your questions while you can.
Seriously I know my dad didn't particularly have a lot of body hair. I have just about no body hair, so that kind of held true.

Lately I see my dad a lot in myself. My gestures, the way he walks. I can see the similarity more since I also have a beard.
I'm a lot like my dad personality-wise, there are things I hate and things I like. I'm not old enough to look like him, but I look like his son, we don't need to say we're related.
He's stockier and gains weight easily, while I can eat whatever I want and stay skinny. This is true for muscle development, it's annoyingly slow for me. Or I'm just impatient.
My mood is improving since T, but I had to find new ways to do something with my anger. I need to do physical activities which I hated, not anymore.

I've ended up with more body hair than my dad, but I'm not extremely hairy because he barely has any. I still have less facial hair but I'm fairly young and it's definitely still coming in. We don't look that similar now - he's over 40 years older than me so it's hard to compare - but my voice sounds kind of like his.

The only mood change I can think of is that pre-t, I occasionally cried because I was upset but never at things that were "touching" (like, happy crying) and now it's the other way around. I don't cry very much so it took me awhile to even notice the difference, but there is one. T didn't make me angrier or anything.
