MMA FIGHTER FALLON FOX IS A WOMAN, GET OVER IT

Time to talk about Fallon Fox. The transgender athlete who's picked a fight with what seems like the whole of the professional Mixed Martial Arts community. Lover that I am, I don't know why anybody would want to beat the ->-bleeped-<- out of people for a living—but, if that's what you feel you want to do, you should have the right to do that whether you're black, white, gay, transgender, or whatever.

So here's the deal. Fallon was born with a peen. No one's perfect. I throw away too much salad. She was raised as a dude, as I am told is traditional in Ohio for babies born with outwardly expressive genitalia. But that peen never did sit right with her and, since 2008, she has been a woman in mind, body, and soul. I'm not saying that being a woman is all about having a vagina, because there's kind of more to it than that, but she even has one of those now. She's totally going for this whole woman thing. I reckon she's got it nailed. More importantly for her career, medical experts agree.

I especially liked a passage from the last paragraph:

I've been following a thread in another area of this site where folks are balking at efforts to help people better understand us. Those same people are also wringing their hands because world is not more accepting. It's nice to see someone else who sees those two as related.

Fallon Fox is a woman! As someone who regularly competes in MMA, BJJ and Muay Thai I could not agree more with you! FALLON FOX IS A WOMAN and a talented fighter!

I saw this this morning and I started to feel depressed because it tries to beat into our heads that trans people will never be real women or real men.

besides, isn't one of the complaints of MTF HRT that it weakens you? What about SRS, aren't your T factories gone after SRS?

Oh I wouldn't take that line of thinking that far Kate, after all look at Rhonda Rousey  http://www.rondamma.com/ the cis MMA chickster with ten for ten wins. Not all women are into being 24'7 sweetie pies, but that doesn't detract in any way from their womanhood.

I was referring to the allegation of Fox Fallon having a competitive advantage because she is trans and somehow having a strength advantage because of that. The fact that SRS halts testosterone production and muscle atrophy is an effect of HRT would seem to put that myth somewhat to bed.

A similar article I saw in another place makes the point clearly!!

"Lara the lover and fighter" a member here at Susan's is a former body builder and MMA fighter, she's lost a lot of muscle mass through HRT and diet and is looking like a real fine woman as of late.
