Hello, everyone! My name is Lucas (or Luke) and I'm a 19-year-old guy from Ohio. I came out to my immediate family as transgender earlier this past summer, and I'm also out to a group of family friends. I'm struggling to come out to my very large extended family, though, and still go by my birth name on Facebook because I don't feel emotionally ready to try and come out to some of them. I'm definitely working on it, though, and my parents and siblings said that they'll help me.
My family is supportive of my transition and my younger brother uses my preferred name and pronouns all the time, which is awesome. My older sister is doing well, too. My parents, well.. not very often, but I think they're getting there.
Anyway, my life revolves around my four animal companions, dealing with my family, seeing doctors for my physical and mental problems, and planning for college that I will hopefully be attending in early 2015. I hope I'll remember to stick around and be an active member around here! Thank you for being an awesome community. I've been lurking for a long time.
