Cool! I suppose that as long as you have pants showing below the hem of the coat you will be fine.  ;D

Actually I was planning on wearing a skirt with it :P

Finally came out to my mom. And she tells me that it don't matter and she couldn't change it if she wanted to and I am who I am and she loves me regardless. :) such a major mind ease!

That's amazing! Congratulations.

I went to see a therapist this morning, he's not a gender therapist but he did ask what my friends called me and I said Marcel. He said "Well I'll see you next time, Marcel" and shook my hand. It's not much but that's better than what my parents or family have done. I think I'll get myself together with his help...

Congrats Evan and Marcel.

Seeing my boyfriend smile makes me happy.

My new pair of sunglasses. It's actually nice to go outside during the day and see, without having to hide in the shade

Strange! Exciting, slightly liberating.  So many people about. Who are they and where did they all come from?

Finally got my iPhone 6+ today! It's huge but I like it. Just need a case now. What would you recommend?

Btw it came with a trial of beats music, and in the signup page under "gender" it asked "I identify as" which I thought was cool! So I put female of course. It had male, female and other. I think I'm going to start doing that for stuff that doesn't need a credit card.

Cool!

I think that is part of my problem with daylight, too many people.

Nice!  And how'd you get the free beats music trial???  I have been enjoying my 6+ since launch day!  Love it!  Yes, its sorta big, but yesterday I used my friends iphone 6 and I definitely think I made the right choice going with the plus model.  Not sure what types of cases you prefer, but I got a Spigen SGP10886 case from amazon...Its a flexible thin-ish TPU style case...doesn't add too much bulk to the phone which is what I try to avoid when I buy cases.

Anyways, I'm super happy today because I just found out there will be at least one FEHB health insurance plan offered to federal employees that will no longer have the transgender exclusion!!

Just open the app and sign up. They give you a 14 day trial.

I wanted to get a spigen as well but I also like pelican. I have pelican cases as my luggage, camera and equipment cases when traveling.

I've got several things that have made me happy this week to the point where my cheeks ache from smiling all the time.

I've been offered a flat that i'm viewing tomorrow so I may be in my very own home in 2 weeks if all goes well, yay!

The LGBT group for homeless people is gaining momentum, last night me & one of the women who helped set it up attended Bristols LGBT AGM & I got to meet lots of lovely people. I'm now several steps closer to getting an all inclusive trans group set up (inspired by this very forum).

I've had a chat today with one of the managers of the charity that runs the hostel I lived in last year & i'm meeting him next week to discuss me helping the charity to run a kitchen at one of their new sites, I told him that we need to tackle the problem of LGBT people facing harrasment from other homeless people when they're in the day centers.
I told him i'd be happy to work in the lions den so that haters will have no choice but to get over their petty hatred & i've got a very tough hide so can take whatever comes my way, he said they'll sort out any training I need & support me 100%

Those 3 things are just the tip of my happy iceberg, I kid you not when I say that if my smile gets any wider the top of my head will fall off :)

Lost 2 pounds this week! Well on track to hit my goal very soon, preferably I'll be down to a good weight before I start HRT.

I don't know what made me do this but I put on some music, took my youngest daughter by the hand and danced with her. She smiled and enjoyed it. This is the same one who called me beautiful the other day. She is such an intelligent young lady, just like I was when I was her age.

I guess I'm a bit happier that some of the weight is lifted off my shoulder and I have a path forward now that will allow me to be me, and I can be out in the open at home and not literally in the closet.

Well we're all working on it sweetie even though some of the people think we are a joke, I think persistence will prevail and eventually it will be more fun and lass anxiety.

I'll quote something I shared with a friend the other day:

"I think my big takeaway is that I wish the world knew our community as I've come to know it. There would be no more intolerance, discrimination, fear or hatred. So much talent, kindness, strength of character, bravery, selflessness and persistence. Despite of the adversity many have faced there is enough humility, acceptance and love of life to smile at the world and keep on giving and living."

We have this knowledge about our brethren and sisters, and it will take some time to sink in. In my former life I was homophobic and have long since come to realize how wrong that was, and see things in an entirely different light now. It takes time and patience to overcome these learned attitudes. Time for them and long suffering patience on our part.
