I have a follow-up with my endo in the near future.  Right now, I'm on a very low dose, but I want to boost it up a notch or two.  In your experience, has your doctor been fairly open to raising your dose if you ask?  My reason - I want to see if a higher dose (but still probably low compared to a hardcore transitioning dose) produces more of the mental stabilization effects that I've enjoyed so far, along with pushing forward the physical changes at a slightly faster pace.  Is this a good enough excuse to beg for more?

My doc goes by blood levels. He upped the dose when he saw that my levels were not as high as he wanted them. He orders a blood test before pretty much every visit.

Ugh.  I guess more blood is on the menu then.  It'll be interesting to find out what my levels are - I literally have absolutely no idea.

I think your reasons are very good and blood is needed to verify levels.

What are ideal levels seems to vary a lot from one doctor to another and some just don't care about levels, basing themselves more on well-being and overall feminization.
I am not a medical doctor, nor a scientist - opinions expressed by me on the subject of HRT are merely based on my own review of some of the scientific literature over the last decade or so, on anecdotal evidence from women in various discussion forums that I have come across, and my personal experience
