Is it worth it to sleep 2 hours?

I'm a high school student, more than that I can't say (Glances at mods). But I was wondering if its worth it to just get about 1 hour of sleep if you where to say, put off all your Essays/projects to Sunday? Because it seems as though that happens occasionally (Never to me of course...). So what I'm asking is if it's worth sleeping the last hour or two, or just to stay up, because it doesn't matter/affect your day enough to make an impact?

Like I said, I would never actually do this... Just in theory if this where to happen.

No. That is a very bad idea. There's a reason they recommend a certain number of hours of sleep a night.

Speaking from experience, I think that, if the choice is between 1-2 hours of sleep and no sleep, getting 1-2 hours will be much better for you and help you get through the day.

Try to get as much sleep as you can, even if it is just an hour or two.

I'm in high school too and I have those days and I'd say yeah, 1-2 hours is definitely worth it but if it gets to about 30 minutes before you have to wake up or less, it's better to just stay up and drink lots of energy drinks. If you go to sleep at that point you'll just wake up more tired than you were before falling asleep. But don't stay up that late if you have responsibilities after school. Unless the assignment is a big part of your grade it's not worth it, because by the time school is out you'll be ready for a nap. And don't do it 2 days in a row because when i do, i get these weird times where i'm dreaming with my eyes open or i can't concentrate or see straight. Also (if necessary) you could sleep during lunch and have a friend wake you up when it's over. I usually get more than 6 hours of sleep though. That's healthiest. But when it comes to finals week or if you need extra credit or makeup work it's best to do it during lunch, and right after you get home, and then hopefully you won't always be up that late.

I wholeheartedly believe it's up to the individual. There are some people that with only an hour or two wake up more tired than they were prior to napping. Then there are others two hours feel like an entire nights sleep for them. My advice is try out both methods see which one lets you function better in the morning. Um I want to make clear that you should try to get as much sleep as possible every night (especially being in high school) this advice is only for those insane type of sleepless nights.

In general it is important to get a good sleep, particularly for younger people, as your bodies and brains are growing quickly and need recovery.

That said, I tend to sleep for 2-3 hours at a time; prior to my transition I was usually in a drunken stupor for several hours - and that isn't good for you either!

I also meditate, a solid mediation for 30-60 minutes is extremely refreshing and a technique worth developing.

OK, there have been many times that I have only been able to get 1 or 2 hours of sleep. 1 or 2 hours is better than no sleep at all. At least it gives you mind and body a break. If you don't sleep any then it just goes downhill through out the day. Sleeping for a couple of hours and then taking a shower to kind of refresh yourself will help. But get ready though, sleep deprivation will eventually catch up with you. When it does and then you crash, that sleep is not very good. Most of the time you will wake up feeling worst than you did when you went to bed. It is best to sleep however many hours your body needs to and with some type of constant schedule.
