Hi Everybody!

New girl here. I'm in my late 50's and have finally decided what I want to be when I grow up. I'm so happy this forum and this group is here and is so active. I've learned a lot in the few days I've been lurking but, more importantly, I've found a group of really nice people who get it. Living in a very conservative part of a very conservative state, it's really, really nice to find community and to have the opportunity to be (a teeny, tiny bit) out. It's particularly nice to see all ages here--I was pretty down about doing this at my age, but I'm seeing a lot of happy, gorgeous women here who took this step at the same age, or even later, so now I'm relieved and inspired. Yay!

I almost got to the tip-over point about 12 years ago but, ultimately, family considerations made growing into myself impossible. Now I can and, miraculously, I have a wife that is very supportive (except for that ugly closet space issue). I'm trying not to get consumed by the logistics of appearance (as I did last time) and focus on being me. The problem, of course, is that I'm not sure who she is after over 50 years in the box. Getting all of these other perspectives here on releasing and growing oneself is and will continue to be a tremendous help.

Thanks to all for being here and for sharing. And yes, I've read the rules about posting, reputation, etc. and other new user information. I thought the bunny with the pancake was cute.

Cheers,

Julie

Hi Julie

I think it's absolutely fabulous that you're finally in the space where you can "grow the girl", and oh my, to have your wife on side is such a fantastic bonus.  It's also great to have women of all ages here - we all bring an interesting view of some facet of being trans.

Here's hoping that, from now on, the worst closet problem you're going to have is for the one that holds your clothes  :D

Hugs and welcome

Hi Julie, I'm new here too and have just come out to my mum. So glad to have found this community and so happy to see that girls are still following their dreams and becoming who they really are even with all the pressure on them. Girls like you inspire me to become the person I really am as well.

Hugs,
Hailey
