:o  I just wanted to share the wondrous and amazing things happening to me at nearly the 3 month mark of HRT. I look at the sunsets and the colors in the sky, as if I was looking at it for the first time or with new eyes. I am enjoying the flavors of food and feeling satisfied more than I ever have in my life. The memory of the flavor even stays longer. I smell and see things and even hear things that please me in a way they did not before. There are still certain thinga that tick me off and annoy me to no end but thats normal and something that has always been there.

I do also notice my anger in general and my frustration and lack of patience has improved. But I can still get quite mad if someone is being a douchebag. But I am happy these changes are happening. Other than that my skin is softer and my nipples are getting even more tender and also it feels like a layer of thick skin is growing near my nipples around the colored area.

I used to think that my increased perception of colors, sounds and suchlike after starting HRT was because my senses were no longer hidden beneath a layer of depression, but I think the hormones are now really sharpening my senses on a physical level - especially touch.  Colors seem deeper, music more enjoyable, soft and furry things feel softer and furrier etc.  Good times.

My Therapist, who transitioned in the 90's, described it to me as going from Kansas in black and white to the land of Oz in full color. Can't wait!

And congrats. :)

Yep, that sounds about right. One of the first things I noticed is that guys stink

But it goes deeper than the sense of smell for me.

One day i was listening to some music and a favorite song came on and I was annoyed because it sounded strange. Then I noticed that ALL of the songs I was listening to that day sounded strange. Then I noticed I was hearing subtle things in the background of the music and I could hear the individual parts of the music and how all of them intertwined to form the song which i had never experienced before, and THAT's why the music sounded different.

My sense of taste changed. Things that had been very spicy to me before were like "meh" now and I needed it to be more spicy.

And the world is a very colorful place once you lift the blinders of dysphoria off.

hmm as far as the spice thing goes, I think I seem to have lost my resistance to certain peppers, but now i seem to love black pepper even more.

Oh and yes, guys do smell LOL, in fact I no longer have that musky smell on me anymore, not even when im using #1 (i know tmi)

I just found out about that smell a couple of days ago at a coffee shop when a guy sat next to me

I have enjoyed many subtle benefits from HRT, but yes Eva Marie, that was exactly what I noticed a few months in!

Most men who smell of something don't smell that good, but occasionally you meet one who smells wonderful....!!!

It's fun to have an augmented sense of smell...!!

I'm in hopeful anticipation of that experience

Wonderful isn't it.  And it gets better until it becomes an every day thing, and it's just kind of "there".

Oh no!  I have always had a stronger sense of smell than anyone I know.  I may have to become a shut-in, rather than breathing in the stench of humanity, lol!

It's funny, but this brings back a lot of memories from my first few months of HRT. Ever listened to a song, or watched a sunset, and feel a chill in your soul? While that happened to me once in a while as a male, it started happening all the time once I was on the hormones.

YES! I also find certain songs annoying now or just not as pleasant. Other ones are growing on me that I hated before.

Hah yup! I got me a heavy dose of that around the 3 month mark too :)

For me the most noticeable one though was that my short and long term memory markedly improved, I'm not sure whether it was a result of my senses being sharper and thus forming stronger sense memories, or whether it was a result of my brain no longer having to divert resources to fending off all the hormones and mental pressures attributed to denial.

The downside? There are many of my male friends who smell downright unholy to me, whereas before I was entirely neutral to them. Either my smell has improved, or they have begun bathing in some horriffic amalgamation of noxious chemicals...one way or the other I find it difficult to bite my tongue on the matter xD

Spoilers: Guys don't like being told that they stink...who knew? ^^*
