do you guys (or girls) find that men have a different smell to them? like a more...shower fresh smell?
i was thinking about switching from womens deoderant to mens, A) i like the smell better, none of that flowery crap and B) to smell more masculine
what do you think? about the difference in smell

I can usually smell men from five hundred miles away....I have an extremely senstivie nose, but yes, men smell differently, much differently from us, girls.

Hmmm...I wasn't necessarily talking about "cologne" smell but natural masculine smell   But if you would like my personal opinion, I like Armani for men; it has a lemony scent, very subtle though....

Well before I formally transitioned I switched from a girls deodorant to old spice (which I still use now). Men smell waaay different than girls, and that was definitely the first thing I noticed about myself after starting hormones.

me to.  I sweat more with T. i use speed stick. dont like deordorants that got to strong smells.  I dont got any facial hair yet but use guillete after shave to give me that fresh after shave smell.  I wear stetson cologne.  not to much just enough.  lane. dude lookin good.

Anyone shower fresh has that shower fresh smell. This is something I pay a lot of attention to. That 'shower fresh smell' is not owned by men or women or others. It is very individual.

That said; Yes. Men and women have different base smells. I agree that it is probably pheromones.

It's the testosterone; it makes the eccrine & apocrine glands to produce more sweat.  Sweat per se is odourless.  Bacteria and chemical  composition is what causes sweat to disintegrate into "masculine smell".

Wearing women's deodorant, in my opinion, surely doesn't help passing.

yeah that is definatly true. mens deoderant has a much stronger smell than womens. i started using mens deoderant yesterday, and i am constantly smelling it everywhere. i like the smell though, im just worried that its very obvious.

I wear cologne. 

My top three favorites....

1. Fierce from Abercrombie and Fitch.  Although I can't stand the prices of clothes at this store, this cologne is GREAT and cheap.

2. Dolce and Gabana (sp?)  It's fabulous.

3. Any LaCoste cologne is great.

I used to think Axe and Tag smelled terrible (mostly because the guys in junior high and high school tended to put on a TON of it.) Now I love it (mostly because there are some adorable dudes here who wear it...but not too much!) It definitely smells male -- I can't see a girl wearing that stuff...

Sweat doesn't have much to do with the male smell. Men who have showered still smell like men. It's that women's noses are sensitive to pheromones that men put out. Sure, men smell more due to sweat (and it's a sharper smell), but that's not the basis, that's not why I...women like to put their nose in their neck and breathe deep. It's that wonderful pheromone smell.

Yes, the smells are defiantly different. But I can't describe the difference between the natural smells. However, women's deodorant tends to smell flowery and delicate. It's supposed to have a soft smell. While men's deodorant is a bit stronger and doesn't always resemble something. (Like my sister has rose-scented deodorant) I'm not saying men's deodorant smells more, but that it definitely has a more masculine smell. I don't know if that made any sense.

I never really thought about it that much. I guess you're good at finding things that aren't so obvious.

I guess men and women have different smells but I can never detect them. Sometimes on the tube you get men who smell of sweaty BO which is horrible but most men are not like that thank goodness..

males' odor is very distinct, rougher, stronger, kinda possessing and at times penetrating   i'm talking too much lately...
