Hello all. I am officially at the 3 month mark tomorrow. I have been dating a FTM who has not started HRT, or anything else, but intends to one day. Last weekend I suddenly found myself entirely un-attracted to him physically, and I can't help but notice his scent, and find it gross somehow. Now maybe he just needs to shower and brush his teeth xD but really I wonder if pheromones aren't part of the problem. I have always had little interest in sex, but now i find it upsetting to even be kissed by someone I really care about. Is this something anyone else here has encountered with hormones? I feel awful, and haven't discussed it with him, but I don't think I can be part of it anymore :(

I am pre HRT but I hear it can/will enhance your sense of smell. You may be right, he needs to wash and brush better. Or it my be pheromones... that I can not answer.

HRT does mess with your sense of smell. I am finding out guys really stink now. If only they were not so darn cute!  ^-^ I still want one, but yes, shower before you touch me!  ;D My body smell is nice now though, kind of floral. So good to be female!  :)

I am a MAAB MTA.  I always make darn sure to shower at least once a day, I cannot afford not to smellwise.

Fortunately no problematic smell changes yet.

Though short of your sense of smell getting better I am not sure why a pre HRT partner would suddenly smell problematically different.

Maybe you two could go shopping at a fancy soap place like bodyworks together and choose a fragrant soap you like that the other likes on you too?

My wife and I like doing that from time to time.

I'm just worried about bringing it up >___< I don't want to hurt his feelings but its reallyyyyy gotta be fixed. I never knew increased sense of smell was a change! I love the heck outta this dude so I want things to work. I like the fancy soap shopping idea! I think it might be more breath than anything though. I'll just have to ask him to brush more I guess. I really hope its not a pheromone issue

Well, when you do bring it up just say your sense of smell is enhanced... and he probably smells the same as before but you need him to freshen his breath a bit for your new sensitive nose...  maybe something like that. teehee  :P

My with and I make sure we brush our teeth, and share the same wine and chocolate...  :)

The issue seems to have resolved itself mostly. I think it was mostly funky breath. I decided the upfront approach was best, but keeping it light hearted and that way nobody gets upset :)

I've known an F2M who thought that guys were supposed to stink and (didn't) bathe accordingly. He didn't use deodorant, just body spray. Doesn't sound like that's your issue, though. Bad breath can be a sign of illness, too.
April 22, 2015, the day of my first face to face pass in gender neutral clothes and no makeup. It may be months to the next one, but I'm good with that!

Being transgender is just a phase. It hardly ever starts before conception and always ends promptly at death.

They say the light at the end of the tunnel is an oncoming train. I say, climb aboard!
