Fall is coming, and I am thinking purchasing new clothes. What would be the recent trend in women's fashion for this fall?

I know that I am basically different from GG with respect to proper fashion. What kind of dress could match well with crossdressers like me (tall, skinny and androgynous looking)?

The junior's tops are my favorite fall clothes. I purchased them at Wal mart about 3 years ago. I tried to purchase a new one in Seattle this summer, but could not find it as it was too early. Can I purchase tops of this style at a Wal mart when I visit again the USA this fall?

dunno about USA,

but this season dark purples, blues and greens are in along with the ubiquitous browns and blacks.
print dress are still fashionable but much less garish then they have been over the summer, with more 1940s cinched in waists.
in fact 1940s femme fatale is the general look, macintosh coat's also being a big autumn thing this year, long coats, not jackets.
there's also a lot of female type suits coming in.

though aquascutum got some very interesting brighter clothes in then most of the high street stores

I see a lot of girls at their 20's wear like the following:

It's denim miniskirt.

And another interesting photo:

All people are transexual, participating a 2005 transgender beauty contest in Thailand.

I know we girls always see flaws first when we look in the mirror, but OH MY GOODNESS!!!, you are gorgeous!  "Tall, skinny and androgynous looking" is EXACTLY what most designers--except for lingerie--are looking for in models and as their ideal body when they design their clothes.  Pica Pica was right, the colors are deeper this fall, but I still see pastels in the junior departments.  The tops are longer than three years ago--more tunic length--so if you want to de-emphasize your height you could go with horizontal stripes or maybe a belted waist look to break up the longer line of your torso.  I have to agree with Chrissty, you will look GREAT in whatever you wear.

Lotsa' love,  Vicki

As a rule, fashion is done one season before, so high summer is the time to shop for fall fashion, by mid October its all going to be winter.

Yes. I already purchased a long top with horizontal stripes through the internet.

It is unusually warm here for October. Yesterday, high Temperature here was 25 degree Celcius (77 F) and was 30.6 degree Celcius (87 F) in another area here, which was the record high in 100 years for October. And, http://afp.google.com/article/ALeqM5jDpqStHKDLf6QKT2DQO_B1ZqDcaA

Well, Barbie, for starters, I don't see you as "tall, skinny and androgynous looking"-- or as a crossdresser, really. You look like you belong in your clothes to me and you look more like a woman than an androgyne. The only fashion thing you do that I might suggest working with a bit might be to vary your skirt lengths some. While my motto is still "dress your personality and not your age", most women who wear skirts do vary the lengths more often than you seem to, and in the fall, longer is probably more common. Your short looks are always cute, but I'd love to see you in a knee length or even something floor length sometime as well.

In spite of the fact that I constantly check and collect images of current celebrity fashions, I don't like to pay so much attention to the the short term trends as much as good overall looks that work year after year. Short term trends are mostly sneaky ways retailers force new sales. I'll keep this thread on my check list, though, and post back when something hits me.

Lyric,

Indeed, my close friends (both women and men) recommend me to wear Chanel-lined skirts or longer ones. Yes. I did try a few times, but I did like it so much. Probably, this fall, I may try more. I have a few long skirts, too.

I have a little bit longer dress.

I have the same one in black. They are very comfy, and I sometimes wear it as a night gown.

That's a great look for you-- and not the least bit "androgynous".

Black one.

I should wear some socks outdoors, preventing athlete's foot, too.

My friends liked it, as it looked a little bit conservative, albeit not so much fashionable.

Fishnet is very comfortable to wear, and actually makes my legs warm.
I am going to wear fishnet everyday until it becomes too cold.

You really must have a liberal workplace. They look pretty darned sexy on you to me. I like the wide barrette, too.

Lyric, thanks!

People from 7 countries do not show any negative reaction to me. I chat with them a lot, changing name cards. There is no woman wearing fishnet except me.

I am going to a volcanic mountain here in Nagasaki, Japan, for excursion, and am thinking wearing fishnet, although they warn me that it will be cold in the top of mountain. High heels would be fine as we will take the cable car.
