I am not sure if there have been threads similar to the one I'm posting now. According to doctors who specialize in FFS, it is possible for 'genetic' women to have FFS procedures done.

I am looking to have a couple procedures done, but those two procedures concern me. Truly, how bad is the chin/jaw feminization swelling? Would I be able to go to work after 8 days? Can some touch my face? Can I go swimming after a few weeks?

You would certainly not be able to swim even though the incisions would be in your mouth.  The swelling will take at least  2 weeks to look quasi normal. How do i know this? I had the surgery on the 25th of September. I would suggest taking two weeks off work to be safe.  Also, you will have hardware holding your jaw together so eating will be restricted to very soft food and you don't want people hugging you and pushing their chin against your jaw. Its highly unlikely but you would not want to unset a healing bone. My doctors told me this is nearly impossible though.

Thank you. Yes, I think I may just have to take two weeks off. I don't want to disrupt the healing process, especially the place that I work at. If I do go ahead with this surgery it will be with Dr. Z. When people talking about the swelling, they make it seem like the swelling is catastrophic, I doubt it's that bad.

Its certainly not catastrophic but there is some swelling and you will not look "normal" or presentable for about two weeks. May i suggest the team of Dr. Deschamps-Braly and Dr. Ousterhout in San Francisco for chin and jaw. They honestly do the best and most aggressive chin and jaw work in the business. I have seen everyones work and their's is the best, bar-none. The picture below is of me post-op approximately four weeks from Dr. O and Dr. D, including sliding genioplasty and jaw surgery.  I would hate for you to see my before pics lol.

Wow, you look stunning. That is really 4 weeks post-op??!

I can't even see the swelling!

I am going with Dr. Z, I am hopefully seeing him next week sometime to at least discuss some options.

Yep, 4 weeks! Take lots of arnica 30 Montana. It helps a lot with swelling. Here are some pics from Saturday night (i had surgery on the 25th of September).

I am happy for you!   :)

You look awesome. Really, your jaw line and chin are so feminine. I am a little envious  :P

I hope to keep in touch with you and give you updates in the near future!
