What strategy would you recommend for total body hair removal?

Hi everyone,

I'm female-bodied, non-binary - maybe something like transfeminine neutrois? (still figuring this out...) - and one area of dysphoria that has always existed for me is loathing of my own body hair. I've had male chest surgery and would consider a light dose of testosterone for its muscle-building and fat redistribution effects, except that the thought of getting HAIRIER immediately outweighs the benefits. I've been shaving everywhere below the armpits every few days since I was 11.

Most of the posts on here (understandably) talk about treating facial hair, but I was just wondering what kind of time and financial commitment I would have to undertake to treat my whole body; probably addressing armpits, genitals, eyebrows, legs/toes, and stray face and mole hairs - in that order of importance?

Thanks for your thoughts,
V

The thing that keeps coming up time and again here for more permanent hair removal (for any part of the body) is Laser and Electrolysis.  You can have professional sessions but they're quite pricy.  Alternatively, you can look at a home solution like the Tria.  I'm not in a position to try it out myself yet so I can't vouch for the results, but many of the girls here recommend it highly: https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,136864.0.html

Hope that helps :) ♥︎

Thanks, Sarah -

I understand laser and electrolysis are probably going to be the go-to options, here, but I guess my question was more like: what kind of time and financial commitment are we talking about? I read on the electrolysis wiki that it can take 3 years to get rid of facial hair  :o so it sounds like we're talking 10 years or more?  :-\

Do I understand correctly that both methods are paid by the hour? So how much ground does an hour of electrolysis cover? Laser? What are the variables involved that affect how fast it goes - hair thickness, and...anything else?

Thanks,
V

I was pretty hairy when I started laser last spring. Within a few months, I had very little body hair left, so as long as you have dark hair, that might be the way to go.
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?
