I know that a lot of people have good medical changes when taking hormones. My question is did anyone get more energetic with the HRT? As my wife said something the other day that got me thinking and I just need to know.

High enough amounts of estrogen (estradiol) give me energy. I didn't mind the caps, personally. :)
I am not a medical doctor, nor a scientist - opinions expressed by me on the subject of HRT are merely based on my own review of some of the scientific literature over the last decade or so, on anecdotal evidence from women in various discussion forums that I have come across, and my personal experience

Although I'm just over a month on HRT right now anyway. I don't feel much of an energy change. Maybe it's because the Spyro is lowering my testosterone as much as the estradiol is raising my estrogen levels, so maybe in some sense. Everything is balancing out as my hormone levels change that's just me though. I look forward to seeing other responses to this other than the capital letter thing which I wasn't offended at. I wish you nothing but the best of luck on your journey. May the Angels always be looking upon you, and guiding you on your path.

Hugs,

It depends what you mean as energy. If you mean stamina, alertness, etc, for me, there was no change. If you mean strength, I'm 1/4 as strong as I was before.

Depends on what tipe of energy you are talking about...
Physical labor and strength, YES, that was affected quite substantially. But i have gained mental energy and and am much more lively.

I've been on HRT for almost four months and have crossed from being T dominant to E. I haven't noticed any changes in my energy levels. I still go to the gym and do the same amount of exercise. Taking into the context of your title I don't think the all caps was rude at all  :)

Thank all of you for your responses and support.

I am still not on HRT and I suffer from low T as it is now. I was wondering if if anyone else was or is in this situation, now I can not make it through the day without a nap, and I feel as though I can not accomplish things that need to be done in the afternoon when I get off of work. So is it easier to stay alert and and awake when on HRT or will I still suffer from lack of energy?

I have been on full strength HRT for about a year now. In addition to losing most of my strength I am often tired and sleepy during the day if I don't make sure to get enough sleep. This wasn't ever much of a problem before even on no sleep. Now I understand my ex wife's need to nap frequently.

It sort of depends on why your energy level is low.  Napping then fading in the afternoon is sort of a sign of lack of effective sleep.  I have low T and I have sleep apnea.  Your therapist should have a quick quiz to see if you are getting enough rest, if not and you are spending enough time trying to sleep a sleep study may be in order - this is for sure something to discuss with your doctor.

I am looking forward to E and less T, but don't expect it will have a lot of effect on how drowsy I get, or not, during the day.

Again I want to say thank you to all the people who were able to give me some insight into the effects of HRT and where their energy levels are. This is the information I was looking for, so that when I start HRT I will have some things to be on the look out for.

Again thank you all.

HUGS!!!!!

My energy levels have always been low and now they're either still low or lower. When I first started HRT I needed naps because of the t-blocker lowering my blood pressure. I think my body has adapted to that even with my recent dose increase, but overall I feel drained a lot of the time. Might have to think about napping again. :/

Energy levels depend on how much T/E in your system, could be related to mood (anxiety increases, depression lowers) and all sorts of medications/other conditions.

Higher E gave me more energy and P helps to balance this out, I think by helping me sleep at night. :)

Davida, I apologize to you. The link was intended as a suggestion that the all caps title you are using  was not the best etiquette on a forum, it had nothing to do with the content of your post. I have been penalized for my (now removed) posts in this thread as you can see in my avatar. I see you're getting the information you wanted, glad to see that.

I wish that I knew where I was going to end up on the spectrum, as that would make life much simpler right now. I do not know if I will transition or if I can be happy as a crossdresser.

This place has taught me that I may realize one day that I do need to transition. I'll take that path if it turns out to be right for me. You'll figure out your path, this site has a great track record for that.

I am learning about this place rather quickly, but it has been a good experience and I am liking this place a lot. I have met several really good people on here and learned a lot about my self and my condition and the world, I am. 46 and thought I had seen the world in the navy and this site has show. Me that we are only allowed to see the world that society wants us to see, as I have learned a lot on here that society would prefer stay hidden.
