Oh hair...

Believe it or not, it really doesn't contribute as much to my dysphoria as a bunch of other stuff, but it is really, really unattractive.

I've basically always wanted to be clean shaven, even when I identified as male, but I have pretty serious in-grown hair and acne issues so I have trouble shaving it off without causing all sorts of skin damage.

Waxing seems to be an attractive alternative, but from my failed attempts it seems to require a startling amount of planning to pull off.

Can anyone show me a good face waxing tutorial? I'd prefer video, but would take text with pictures for sure. Also do you reccommend soft or hard wax?

No real advice but for your chest (I would not try this on your face) have you thought about sugaring? I have been looking into it and it appears to be super easy to make at home and does not require using cloth strips so should cost a lot less than waxing.

Like tattooing and dentistry don't do this at home!Sometimes it's better to leave it to the experts.Never wax your face, there's been plenty on Susan's about what can go wrong.

Yep, don't try to wax your face yourself. And really, don't wax it anyway. You will increase the number of ingrown hairs and ultimately make proper permanent removal with electro or laser much more difficult.
