Any Movember Issues So Far?

I know some people have had issues with companies making growing facial hair mandatory for the Movember charity; something which can certainly be a very bad trigger for a lot of us. I was wondering if anyone is having trouble with it this year? Anyone had the need to go to HR and tell them no?

Couple of years ago yes had this problem at work. Very bad as you say.
Last year took the month off, and this year doing the same.
Simple solution.

After two years of laser and electro it would be hard to say the least. ;)

I almost went to HR when my team gave me so much grief about not participating in Movember. I was not happy to say the least.
Last year had worked so many hours it was all time in lieu. This year it's my first time off so I have paid for it.

Nice not to be at work for the month, again.

Not really a viable option for everyone though so don't be forced and say no to them. If not go to HR as it is not right.
Could be tricky for some.

I'm glad it's not an issue for federal employees. I'm having severe dysphoria right now having to let this crap grow before electrolysis.

Interesting thing is my hair has become lighter in colour so it's hard to see it, even after a week of not shaving. HRT is slowing my already slow growth enough that I can only shave once a week, usually the day after electro. I probably couldn't grow a noticeable moustache even if I suddenly went mad and decided I wanted one.

I hadn't thought about this, but now that you mention I am super happy that I transitioned and left my job before something like this happened, because it would drive me crazy >_< It took some time for my girl friend to get over shaving, and that was bad enough. I'd hate to deal with it at work too.
Live a life with no regrets and be the person you know you were meant to be.

I am a weird girl, I like video games and skirts, swords and nail polish, sharks and black lace...not sure if that's normal, definitely sure that I don't care. =P

OK ladies, this makes me laugh.

My mustache is a trademark, my "beard" for my male outward persona, that I have had since 18 (now 53) as part of my pretending to be alpha male all these years. Shaved once, at 40 for a Halloween party where I was Cat woman, my spouse, Bat Man (but that is another story). It is a true recognizing feature that I know would throw people of if I didn't have it (people freaked the one time I did it, and really didn't recognize me).

I will keep it until the day I decide to transition.

As for Movember, no one, and I mean no one, should be obligated in any way to participate, even if just in a mocking, peer pressure kind of way. It is a personal choice, no different than shaving your head for St. Baldrick's Day.
