FFS for a crossdresser?

I posted this in the dedicated FFS section, but got no replies. Perhaps since that area is more for transsexuals maybe here is a better place.

I've had a conservative rhinoplasty operation for slight thinning / upturn, and am getting a lip lift next month to give me a shorter upper lip and more vermillion / tooth showing.

I wondered if many non-transitioning crossdressers have had things like Brow bossing and chin surgery? As my aim is to look more androgynous, but ultimately still living a lot of my daily life as a man.

It may seem a little drastic but I really dislike my brow ridge and reasonably manly chin, so having these done would, in my opinion, make me more aesthetic in either guy or girl mode. The only problem is I can find virtually no examples of a mere crossdresser / guy doing such a thing.

Mere crossdresser?  :o  I take exception to that remark!

If you want the surgeries go for it, in my opinion. You should do what makes you happy.

Hi Devlyn,

Sorry I should have put "mere" in speech marks  ;) , obviously I was talking more about the levels of drastic-ness we take to become more female. given this is "part time" for me... but no nothing "mere" about us! I happen to love crossdressers, I think it's quite an awesome way of life ;D ;D ;D

I was really wondering what guys look like in male mode after FFS but there seems to be little data on this subject. Perhaps I'll be a guinea pig...!

Amyd,

That is a good question.  I have been looking into the specifics of FFS.  Apparently, most of the competent surgeons in the USA would prefer that you have had hormone replacement and blocking for 1 to 2 years.  There are some excellent resources on the internet, just enter FFS surgery.  Some of the pictures show an amazing transformation, and significantly feminize a masculine face.

On the other hand, no one suggest that SRS is mandatory.  I would think that Facial cosmetic surgery would be something you could get without undergoing SRS. . . Its certainly an interesting idea.

Strangely, there are surgeons who will give breast implants without SRS, as it is considered easily reversible.

I'm M2F trans, but I find this question quite interesting. I need to continue presenting male for the moment, but I wonder if I could do at least some FFS and remain presenting male.

I had always understood you don't need any kind of letters for FFS, but I never really investigated it. If surgeons prefer you to be on HRT is might be because its easier to see how your face changes, or more likely they don't want any legal troubles if you are unhappy with the result. I'd expect you could get around this easily enough by seeing a psychiatrist (the ones who do trans work) and getting a letter saying that you are sane and this is in your best interest. Or go to Thailand where it probably matters a lot less.

I wonder though if there are FFS procedure that cannot be done if you have facial hair? Getting electrolysis would be a whole other step, and I can't do full facial hair removal because of the way my face now looks on HRT. Maybe you'd find electrolysis helpful though?

I'd sure like to know how you go if you progress with this.

Do what makes you happy!

Furthermore I've definitely seen/read about a few cis males getting brow ridge reduction just because they hated their bossing.

With what you've already had done + what you're planning to do, I would only caution against a possible male-fail. Judging by your avatar pic you are already very passable as a female. I would imagine with the added facial work you might get misgendered.

The androgynous look is to die for, in my opinion. Best wishes to you :)

Dr. Mark Zukowski in Chicago, is a well known FFS Surgeon, and he has patients that identify as crossdressers. Here is a link to link to his website; there is as subsection for crossdressers in the FFS gallery http://www.mlzukowski.com/

I plan to have FFS in 2015. I am not on HRT, and will not be. I am a life-long TG/TV/CD, and I am about to turn 50. I finally have all my ducks in a row in terms of relationship, career and financial security. Are there some surgeons that will rule me out for FFS?

I had some vase lipo done on my chin earlier this year,it really made my jaw line a lot sharper and more defined, not particularly feminine looking I guess, but I`m very happy with it.
