Sort of a finder thread in case you know a song, but not the artist, etc. My friend the internet isn't helping me find this song, it was one of those lunchtime parody songs about thirty years ago. The lyrics to "It's A Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna Rock 'N' Roll)" had been changed to "It's A Long Wait At The Shop (If You Want A Lobster Roll)" Anyone remember this?

Sounds like it might be "Weird" Al, but i'm not sure.

I checked. I think it was a local Boston group. Funny stuff!

That makes sense with the lobster roll.  very few people not from NE (which includes me) actually know what a proper (or even one in general) lobster roll is.

Worse than that, they think that lobster sauce has lobster in it. Tourists!

I've been trying to find a song from around 1979 to 72, can't remember who sang and haven't heard it in 40 years because I don't listen to the radio and don't know the title , but was out around the same time as ' Dock of the bay and was some what similar to 'line man for the county ' and the theme song for ' Midnight Cowboy ' and was about wide open spaces. Its been driving me insane for at least 15 years.

Stephanie, did you try looking at old Billboard charts from around the time it was popular?

Maybe I'll be able to think of it later, when my head isn't killing me.

You have to tell us what it is when you find it. This will bother me.

Could it be something sung by America?
