Liposuction?

Mr.X

I'm really unhappy about my thighs/bottom. In my eyes, they are way too feminine. I am almost a year and a half on T and had expected better results regarding fat redistribution. I tried dieting, but even going down to an unhealthy bmi of 18 did not help. Sure, the thighs were less fat, as was every other part of my body. But being underweight is hard to keep up, and frankly unhealthy. After I decided to gain some weight again, the thighs just came back. So now I'm considering liposuction to suck away those pesky fat cells for good. Thing is, I know nothing about this kind of surgery for Trans men.

I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with liposuction. If so, could you please share your experiences? Did it really make your thighs/hips more masculine? How much did it cost? Was it painful to recover?

You say you've tried dieting, have you also exercised those parts to increase musculature?

I used to be a runner, going on 10km+ runs at least 5 times a week (had to quit because of top surgery). I also used to train my upper body with weights and a chin up bar. So I guess that would be a yes? No specific training for my legs, though.

It's possible yes. Being covered under a trans related medical cost though? Probably not. It'll be seen as cosmetic.

I look at it this way. If it's with in your reach and it's not harming anyone else and this will make you happier with yourself, then go for it.
A thousand people could tell you all day that they think your legs are fine and look great. But at the end of the day it isn't their body and it's your decision on if you want to get it done or not.
First and foremost, your happiness is important.

It sounds like you've tried other things without relief so if this is an option for you I don't see why you couldn't get it.
I run a FtM blog where I pour my experiences out for others to read. Check it out!

I don't have any personal experience with this, but Dr. Garramone talks a little bit on his website about "Body Masculinization" liposuction surgery.  It looks like it's an extra optional procedure he offers during top surgery.  This whole package deal obviously isn't what you're looking for, but if Dr. Garramone does it (and even makes trendy ® names for it), then there must be other doctors who do it as well.

This is from the website:
"ManSculpture® Body Masculinization: Transgender Surgery ManSculpture® Body Masculinization is commonly performed at the same time as the FTM Top Surgery® Procedure. This consists of shaping the body to a more "masculine" form with the use of Power Assisted Liposuction techniques. By lipocontouring the abdomen (stomach), love handles, and the "saddle bag" area of the outside hips or thighs, Dr. Garramone can give your body a more streamlined and masculine appearance. By performing ManSculpture® at the same time as the FTM Top Surgery® Procedure, you can save money on the overall operating costs, as performing both procedures separately at different times will be considerably more costly. This is why Dr. Garramone recommends this procedure to be performed safely and concurrently with your chest surgery."
