Well for some girls it never left, though I fret at how their feet must be after being bound up at the end of a super hot summer's day. Anyway, I've never worn women's boots before! Well, maybe once in a store when I was in college... but they weren't like fashion so much as costume. Anyway, I'm wondering what everyone's preferred styles and coordinations are. I've always been drawn to a slouchy boot, but I'm not even sure if it would look good on me. I like the sort of futuristic andro looks of Rick Owens:

But who could afford that!?!? And I know it's behind the trends but I'm also kind of keen on flat or low heel riding boots maybe paired with leggings or skinny jeans like:

Any styles that might read too mannish for transgender women? My budget is not unlimited so I also have to be careful with color. Black seems like a safe choice to start with? Any shades of brown that are tough to pair with? Share your boots!

I love long boots, but I avoid them as I fear any possible fungal infection in my feet.

One of the unspoken realities of fashion is that fashion items are not patented or copyrighted for the most part so everything that's popular is copied at a lower price sooner or later. Keep an eye out and you'll probably find something like it at a low price sooner or later.

I'm pretty sure fungal infections only come from other people, particularly publicly used showers and such. If you allow your boots to dry properly between wearings they should be OK. An alternative would be to put them in a freezer overnight. Freezing should kill anything as well.

Lyric,

I am encouraged by your comment. I will try to purchase high-heel boots in the upcoming winter, despite the absurd price tags here.

Um no or people would be wasting money on sperm banking!  :)

Freezing can kill many types of bacteria, but I'm not sure about all fungi and I'm no expert on either. I do know people freeze clothing to kill such things as an alternative to laundering or soaking them in disinfectants.

I suspect the freezing of sperm is a very carefully controlled process using specific temperatures and timing factors. I do know it does not last indefinitely.

I don't like wearing boots of any kind. It just feels weird to me. I wear sneakers year round.

I ended up picking up a pair of mid calf boots to start. This pair from Blowfish to be exact. I love the buckle details and feel like they go with anything. Still want knee highs though...

This is a picture of the pair I bought. Pretyt cheap since it's faux (vegan friendly) leather. Really comfy, really chic.

Hi all, just bought my first pair of tall boots this morning from Zulily  I can't wait until they arrive!

I know they're not black (they are chocolate) but I have lots of clothing options to wear these with.
Love Rachael

I've got mine on with leggings and a black skirt with metal studs.

I sometimes wear these 14 cm (5.5 inch) high heel boots:

But nowadays I usually wear sandals for summer to avoid any athlete's foot.

Nobody yet says these are unfashionable.

Uber Cute! I eventually got a pair from Pikolino's that I adore but the 1 1/4" heel is SUPER slippery and I had to score them and break them in a lot before I felt safe wearing them in daily use.
