Humor can save the lives of transsexuals - what makes you laugh rather than cry?

Cindy, you said, "Truly though, I don't care how strong a person is, we all need to feel needed."

When a poll was taken awhile back about what people at various companies wanted, surprise-surprise, a bigger salary was not in first place.  What workers most wanted was a feeling that their work was appreciated.

Where (what kind of facility) would you suggest that an average post-op TS like me could volunteer advise to other TS's?
How does one find such a place?

Hi Teri
Well there is always service work available at different institutes where you can get in as a social worker or a volunteer.  I have been in service to others type of work for a good many years, so for now until I find something more hands on I go to different support groups on the Internet. I wouldn't know how to do anything else but doing support work. But to be sure there is probably many other types of employment one can get if they look around. They may be short of what you really want but they can get you there depending on how devoted you are and how much you are willing to persevere.

My partner, Annie makes me laugh....really hard. My nursing school tutor, Sandy makes me laugh. My minister, Leddy, makes me forget I'm a female, and laugh like a fool. There was never anyone funnier than Jack Benny, Red Skelton, and Lucille Ball! My pledge to myself is to die laughing!

Hi Nickie
I do so agree with you I grew up watching those characters on TV. Tis sad to see most of them gone now, they were the best. "Humor!"  Oh my gosh don't let the few posts I posted lately be an example of who I am. I am quite capable of humor, I love humor and laughing until I almost pee my pants. I'll let my Soul mate verify that. Although I know who I am and I have never been happier in my life. Life is too short to not be happy.

Er, nice to meet you Nickie, I do not believe we have met yet.
