Despite being 6'3" I feel like I blend in pretty well, don't get many looks, probably because I have a thin frame. I'm used to being this tall and don't really notice it until I see a picture of myself with a bunch of cis women... I look like a freaking giant Amazon! Just saw a pic from an art show I went to last week where I got corralled into a pic with two friends and some of their gal pals. Some of them look like midgets compared to me. One of my friends is the second tallest but I still tower over her. Yeesh. It really makes me feel awkward. I'd share  to prove it but don't have the permission of the other ladies in the pic.

It's interesting you should say this because I am about the same height as you, but I don't seem to worry too much about it until I see myself in a picture with other people...
I guess heels are out of the question which is rather unfortunate :P

I've always had a thing for tall women. I think they're super extra beautiful. :)

I know how you feel $: I'm scraping 5'8" but I'm still quite a bit taller than my other friends who are girls & I feel so awkward when I'm with them! Plus, I live in a very latin-native community so I'm considered generally tall & look a bit out of the ordinary for a girl. They're like 5'3"-5'5" so I look so much taller than them in photos :( I hate it. Although I have to admit, I can't help but admire a taller woman's beauty when they're tall. Well, considering they're beautiful anyways. haha My friend is 5'11" but whoa! She is so beautiful! Like, insanely.

I guess the shortest woman in the pic is probably thinking "I look like such a midget!"

I'm sure short people feel just as awkward standing next to others who are taller. I've always been curious what it felt like. My height doesn't really stand out amongst either women or men around where I live.

i was also one of the tallest girls among our class in the school. but don't think that you look awkward. you are tall and slender, and look beautiful.

Are you 5'6" / 5'7" ish? I feel 5'6" is a pretty gender neutral height

Yes I do!  At 5'3" on an optimistic day I even look small amongst a bunch of cis women.

Of course, now I look cute enough to cuddle; as a guy I just looked freaky at the wrong end of the scale  ;D

Grace, I am just slightly taller than you and I also have a pretty thin frame. But in the platform high heel boots I tend to wear, I am close to 6'8". On a crowded club dance floor, I am often the tallest one there of either gender. Yet I don 't think about it too much, except to use it as a way to break the ice. When I meet a young straight CIS girl at the club, they are always little bit surprised to see the way I tower over them, so I say something like "how many TGirls have you met that can play in the NBA". They usually say "not many" and that becomes the beginning of a conversation.

...6'8"....

That's why I stay away from high heels, I'm tall enough already! That, plus I find I lose my carefully honed sense of how high door frames are and start hitting my head!

you should see the women basketball players in my neighborhood .

Lostkitten

I would love living nearby a woman basketball team :P.

Maybe it sounds familiar but my height really only bothers me when I see myself on pictures, with others next of me. On my own I am fine but with a group of short people.. meh =/. But it probably be the same if you are 5.1ft surrounded with 6ft+ people.
:D Want to see me ramble, talk about experiences or explaining about gender dysphoria? :D

There's a quote from this book where she mentions the fact she doesn't feel tall until she someone in the distance who she thinks is tall, and when she gets up to them she's in fact taller. That's basically accurate for me, I never fell tall(I'm just under 6'2"), but then I get next to other people I thought were think are the same height as me, and welp
26 years old. Started E in March '14 and Spiro over a year before that. Also, I'm effing awesome.

This wasn't just plain terrible, this was fancy terrible. This was terrible with raisins in it

I'm 5'10", which is perfectly normal where I am. I totally don't get the people who consider that tall, but I guess it depends on location.

It can be an interesting experience, just before the conference in Adelaide I had a friend down from Sydney. She is about 5'9" and I'm 5' 7" we went out for lunch and pulled up in front of a cafe, in my rather low sportscar (MX-5), and we got out. Both of us were wearing short skirts and high heels (just by coincidence >:-)), I swear you could hear the drool hit the floor

Nice lunch too ::)

6'3"-ish and I've always bent my knees to blend in for photos. It makes regular-size people feel short at the time but the photos usually turn out nicely. I like people remembering how an evening went, not that I look like a giraffe in the photos.
