Curious about the time people transitioned

I'm not a transitioner, but I found my inner girl when I was 47.

I started at about 24 (socially) and I am now 26 and have been on T for about a year.

It was about 2PM, I think.

All kidding aside, I was 43 years, 8 months, 19 days.

Started everything at 22. The signs were there and probably should have started when I was 18.

I was 22 when I stated questioning my gender. I dove right into research. Within 6 months I was binding on the regular. Played with socially transitioning for a couple years (I was a bit of a loner/hermit). I didn't officially start RLE until I was 24 1/2 (August 2013) and went to rehab for a drug problem, I decided to go through the men's program and it changed my life even though I kind of hated the program. Started T when I was about 25 1/2 in June. I really wish I would have started medically transitioning sooner. I thought I would never get the chance so I started using drugs instead. I'm still picking up the pieces from my 2 year bender.

Knew I was a man from my earliest memories trapped in a female body.  Wasn't able to do anything about it medically until I was 33 years old and had to move to another country to do it.

I started HRT about a month after my 18th birthday, my social transition was in phases from about 16/17 up until 18. And I'm still coming out to people.

Always wanted to be a boy as a kid, tried to fit in as a teen/early 20's, was closeted genderqueer for a few years in there but mostly didn't acknowledge that identity even to myself, met a transman IRL for the first time at 24 and started questioning, identified as genderqueer publicly for a year or so, decided to answer my question at 25. Still haven't gone on HRT, legally changed name or gender, or come out to most of my family.

There are definitely guys on this forum who started younger (teens) as well as older (30s, 40s, 50s, or after significant life experiences like marriage, kids, etc).

There is a lot of stuff in the media lately about trans kids, but there are a LOT of factors that go into being an out trans kid. It requires a highly supportive family, a particularly assertive personality, and access to information (for the kid and/or parents, through internet research, books, education, or other avenues, which can be limited both by socio-economic factors and physical geography). Those kids are unfortunately the exception rather than the rule.

So I'm happy to be where I am now. There are guys in my support group in their 50's and 60's who are just beginning their journeys. And they are happy to finally be where they are.

haven't transitioned socially, but  transitioned mentally at age 19.  I started gender therapy around 20/21, and I plan to have top surgery in 2015 hopefully.  I have no idea when I'm going to start hormones or transition socially.

Blockers at 15/16, HRT on my 18th b'day, SRS at 21.

I discovered that trans men were a thing three days before my fifteenth birthday, got into a place where I could come out a few weeks off my eighteenth birthday, and did so.  I'm still eighteen, and as long as nothing goes horribly wrong I should begin hormones just before my nineteenth birthday.

23 started therapy, 24 started hormones, 27 had top surgery.

I'm counting the moment I decided: okay, I am a boy and I want to be me. And that evening told my parents I wanted to transition ad started telling others. I was 19.5 :D I started HRT at 20 in June. An now I'm 21 :D

Realized at 17, originally intended to transition at 18. Put it off until this year. I'm 25 now, starting HRT on 12/5 with the intention to have top surgery in the spring.

Technically had my script for 3 months before filling it. Took my first shot a month before my 20th birthday. Been on T for about 3 months. I saw your other post. No need to feel regret...It's not fulfilling and there's always a reason for everything.

I voted twice - had a go at age 23 for two years before I imploded, this time started age 47 and still going strong.
