Don't give up hope. When I started HRT my waistline was 33" it barely changed at all for six whole months, neither did my weight for that matter go down either. I did however decide to do somethng about it. I changed what I ate and how much of what I ate; and crucially I also started to do a lot more cardio. I'm not talking Insanity or anything like that, just plain old walking. In the end I lost 22lb and I got to a 28" waist. So it is doable, but you've got to be patient and put some spade work in if you really want to shift it.

I am holding within 30% of my target weight and though I cannot peel all the fat off in one go, I am, in general pleased with what the Doctor can do.

Currently a banana. Soon to be an "almost" hourglass.

Weight is the big one for  me right now, once I find my post operative weight I am going to focus on losing the rest to be ready for GRS/FFS.

36-29-41 ... I guess by numers that should be pear shape, but honestly it's not. I would do anything... and I mean ANYTHING to have a pear shape body. It's not possible as I did't start hormones at age 11 or 12. I guess I should be happy with hourglass, and the fact everything proportionally works.
I started hormones for 27th birthday, and now 14 months after I can't say I had any serious fat redistribution to hips, or butt or thighs. It's definitely there, but not by any means a lot, and if I didn't have naturally wide hips, I would be waiting for a miracle to happen. I've been through numbers of tests my doctors suggested, because of intersex indicators, and so far nothing unusual. I did however had a very short male puberty, and basically didn't develop any masculinization after 14.

Nonsense! Squash are like fruits and can have an hourglass shape. So can pomegranates and oranges if they grow with a binder around the mid.

I eat an hourglass everyday. Help keeps me on time ;D

In my case I believe it's typical for women of my race. Watch a Bollywood movie and you will see what I mean. That said it can be a curse too. Thunder thighs and overly big boobs run in my family.

I'd love to do the same thing, but I worry that it'll change all of my numbers in unison (which is probably no bad thing from a general health perspective, not so much from a body shape perspective.)  For every inch I lose around the middle, I'm sure I'd lose an inch from my hips and an inch from my tits.

I took that risk and although I lost weight it wasn't uniform throughout. I lost 5" from my waist, 1.5" from my hips and 2" from my under bust. I am also hopeful that with HRT any future slow and gradual weight gain is going to go back to my ass. You won't know until you try.

Thank you. I find your story very inspiring. I already walk a lot because I appreciate the quiet contemplation that is only possible while walking among nature. There is not much more I can do there, although I always thought it helped the distribution somewhat, even pre-transition. My problem stems from binge eating. For years I have struggled with that as binging is my 'escape' from dysphoria. Since I am still in the closet at home and still have other health issues caused by past androgen exposure, my dysphoria remains and that makes controlling what/how much I eat almost impossible. Indeed, the hormonal changes have had no effect on my weight or diet, either. Maybe this will finally be the motivation I need to quit binging. If dieting for a few months could make me beautiful for years to come, I *might* be able to do it... once I find work and have less free time in a house filled with food, that is.

Maybe so, but if you lost the weight all over and then gained it back later with the right hormones/medications, it may come back in different places. I think it is worth a try and would definitely like to try it myself. From a physiological perspective, losing the weight everywhere and then gaining some back in different places sounds far more plausible (and realistic) than trying to "spot reduce," which many experts warn against because it is difficult if not impossible. Also, lower-body weight (near the hips) tends to be more resistant to weight loss and is less likely to disappear, especially in the presence of estrogens. It is not so much my weight that bothers me as it is my ugly shape, a relic of the harmful testosterone that was oppressing me until mid-summer.

Both of you, stop it.  I like eating and I hate exercising.  I wanted easy solutions, not hard stuff like "dieting" and "running".

Let me tell you this... I didn't go nuts with exercise, in fact I'm not a really sporty kind of person. I never was. Doing more cardio will help with shifting it faster, but all I did was my usual routine of walking to the shops and back to the car with the groceries. Of course, I did park the car a little bit further away.

I didn't say I dieted. I've changed what I ate and how much of it. In a nutshell I cut out practically all carbohydrates ate protein up to the size and thickness of the palm of my hand per meal, plenty of leafy greens and importantly for energy as much good fats such as butter and oils not derived from crushed seeds such as coconut oil or olive oil as I could manage per meal. It sounds simple, but that's because it is, you just cut the carbs out ie no bread, pasta, rice, potato chips, beer, sodas etc., even most fruit and you must stick rigidly to it for at least two weeks to get your body adjusted to it. A couple of the guys in the office have been following the same new way of eating, both have lost vast amounts of weight with minimal effort.

Your brain is controlled by the appestat and that is governed by how much fat you ingest which releases an enzyme to say stop when it thinks you've had enough to eat; not the overall amount of energy, which in this 'low fat' processed food world nowadays mostly means it's in the form of carbs. Try snacking in between meals with foods like slices of pepperoni or slabs of cheese and it becomes very difficult to keep shovelling it into your face. Wash that all down with water and any feelings of in-between meat time hunger quickly disappear. I lost 5lb in 2 days just because of less water retention because my body started to go from a glycogenic to ketogenic state. Yes you need to drink more water, but is that a bad thing? Aside from eating, water also helps with hunger pangs as well as flushing out impurities.

Since losing the weight, my portion size hasn't increased, and my weight is now stable at 143lb even when I go crazy with the odd chocolate treats, but this is something to look forward to once you've lost the flab.

Well, there is one simple and often overlooked option: try turning the thermostat down to 55 degrees and do not dress any warmer. Sure, you will shiver at first, but eventually the body compensates by producing its own heat. With cooler temperatures alone, it is possible to lose more than 1 pound per week without any changes to food intake or physical activity. Best of all, cooler temperatures seem to prevent weight from going to high places such as the face and shoulders, where it is masculine and ugly.

Also remember there is no perfect diet for everyone. I tend to find that eating more fiber and starches, but less fat and sugar, makes it easier to control total calorie intake. Vegetables and whole grains are important. Fat is so dense that it is not filling to me and thus increases my calorie intake. Now, why can't I follow my own advice? ;)

Also, saturated fats, found primarily in animal products and palm/coconut oils, can increase endogenous steroid production. Even if T is suppressed, other steroids (such as vitamin D and adrenal hormones) may still have masculinizing effects. When I gave up saturated fats several years ago, I lost 3 inches from my waist in 3 months, with no effort at all. I therefore discourage saturated fat consumption.

I do not like intensive exercise, either. If I run for a few minutes, I am out of breath, exhausted, and stressed. Doing something else during prolonged, low-intensity exercise, so that it is a relaxing time rather than a stressful one, is key.

Become like me and be too lazy to eat :D .

Issue is tho that now after losing 10 pounds in a couple of weeks. That I'm ''stuck''
It confuses me as I don't eat much at all...

If it makes you ladies feel any better, I measured myself in those 3 parts and I got a banana body type. This did not stop people from reading me as female before, I assure you.
