So here is my question has anyone heard of or know of a person or case that a trans person acquired DVT because of being on  Intramuscular estradiol? Or a case of acquiring because of being on pre post-op dosages while being post op?

Hi Calico, being on IM EV myself I have paid particular attention to this topic, and as of this date I have not heard of a confirmed case.  This is not meant to diminsh the importance of this possible medical emergency, but just to say that the only instances I've read turned out to be fears (well founded) caused by different non related circumstances.

I am responding to this for another reason as it will keep this topic bumped up a bit to give more opportunity for qualified opinion from people who are more knowledgeable.   Dani

Thanks for the reply,  I haven't heard of a case either,  after I had my surgery I decided to finally see a Dr for my script (I was self medicating)  and after a couple visits I went on injection because I didn't like the possibility of dvt on pills an I was taking other meds so I didn' t want to tax my liver more than it was. The Dr I am seeing is old fashioned and since I have had surgery she likes to keep me and her other post-op patients on the half dosage regimen which doesn't do well with me and I was taking twice the prescribed amount (without her knowledge) as on the prescribed dosage I was tired all the time and lethargic once I raised my dosage it fixed everything,  now all was well until I was in the hospital and she found out.  I would look for another Dr but in the area I'm in she's is my only option. So this is my reason for the curiosity as I've never heard of someone getting dvt on injectables  but she basically said if I did she'd never prescribe me again...

I have been taking depo-estradiol for about 15 years without any issues. I still take the same dose as a post-op as I did before my surgery. But that's what my endo recommended for me. So far so good. I believe he told me one if there is a potential for dvt it happens in the first couple of years but who knows.
