I was just wondering, does electrolysis work if you're not taking blockers or estrogen?

I'm not sure I want to take hormones, but I do want to get rid of my facial hair, and when I shave it grows back to soon, not only that, but unless I wait a few days before I shave again,it will irritate the skin,I've tried ways to both remove it for longer and prevent irritation, but NOTHING works for me,I've used hot water,a fresh raiser and the shaving gel that's meant for sensitive skin, but it's still the same, before I waste any more money,I want to know if it will actually work without hormones or blockers.

Also,how long does it last?

Thank you for your time.

Electrolysis is permanant, is hormone independent, takes a long time and is quite painful.  I have about 125 hours in so far and am pretty clear, but will be doing two hours a week for most of the next year to finish.

Hope that helps,
Julie

It takes a lot of time.  Facial hair is unfortunately the gift that keeps on giving!  Taken me 6 or 7 laser treatments, 66 hrs blend and 171 hrs of galvanic but  probably 16 hrs of the latter was on brows, ears, underarms and back.  Now visit once every 2 weeks for 3 hrs at a time.  Achieving full clearance each time and will be able to cut back to 3 hours every 3 weeks in the new year.

My electrologist said that I was indeed hairier than most!   While expensive and uncomfortable it has certainly made me appear more androgynous which is a very good thing indeed.

Safe travels

I had electrolysis done on my chest and underarms back in the mid 1980's ... I wasn't taking any hormone therapy at that time ... And I have not seen one hair on my chest or under my arms since.  One of the best things I ever did ... Roberto.
It took a lot of doing, but I take a lot of pride in what I am.
