Okay, now what I mean by this is, even if you're not 100% sure, what would you like to change your name to? I'd have to go with Natalie or Siobhán (pronounced "shi-vawn" it's Irish) as I think they're nice names. Anyhow, I started this because I was curious to hear what names people would go with!

Lately I've felt kind of attached to Matthew, but I'm not sure if I want to go for something more androgynous to make the eventual transition easier...

It's a long way in the future (assuming it ever happens -- my internal oracle says it will, but I don't know), but I'm leaning towards Elise or Alison.  I like Ellen, but it's too close to my current name.  (I'm confusing enough, I don't want to add to the confusion.)

On the other hand, Melissa has a nice sound to it.

It looks like I'm into names with liquid sounds; maybe it means I'm really amorphous inside.  ("My gender identity is: Jello!")

I kind of want to keep my name similar to my birth name, which is kind of hard since it doesn't seem to have a clear female version..

So far what I have come up with is either Mattie, or Madison. Mattie being the closest to my birth name, and I have actually used it as a short version of my name before.

But, if my parents end up being somewhat supporting of me when I get brave enough to come out to them, I will probably ask what they were going to name me if I were born female.
