I haven't seen my older brother since I was 6 or 7, but we've maintained some contact since the beginning of face book. He lives out of state, and he is gay.. which I think is one of the reasons he left.. as our parents didn't accept that. We never really been much close, just an occasional "merry christmas" or "happy birthday, how's things going?" here and there. So today, we had the longest conversation ever... and think we bonded as brother and sister more... he's the first family member I've told about my transition. Only the friends who I am retaining in my new life, and of course my fiance', knows. He urged me to tell our parents.. and even offered to come and help me..first telling them he is marrying a guy, then telling them I am transitioning into a female. But, I think it would be WAY too much for them to handle at once. He offered to let me move in with him and his fiance' if they gave me problems until I move in with my fiance' but I decided I am just keeping it on the low for now...quite possibly I may move in with them in a month or two until next spring. Either way, we plan to have a reunite next year and spend a little time together as we've never had a chance to do that in our lives. He's invited my fiance' and I to his wedding and we're inviting him to ours. I am just stoked and happy tears...next year is going to be awesome...
