"Police were on Thursday investigating the death of a 21-year-old transgender woman who was gunned down while pounding on the front door of a South Los Angeles home seeking help."

Story made all the more disturbing by the fact that the victim was repeatedly misgendered by family members in the video. The reporter correctly gendered her throughout, though.

Yes, I noticed that, too!

That's one neighborhood I wouldn't even go to in broad daylight, but I don't think the neighborhood had as much to do with this senseless killing as her identity did.

Sad.

And that is why I carry a pistol...even at home. Never know when it will be needed, and there's never time to unlock the safe and load before bad things happen.

It's sad that such things happen in such a world where people seem to be open and accepting. My heart goes out to the people who understood her <3
