So I reach a new milestone in my transitioning, today.  Today while getting take out standing in line, and when got up to the front, while in 'guy mode' still, I got Ma'amed.  I not had any make up on and my clothing was a little feminine... leggings, long sweater, (nearly) knee high boots, and woman's peacoat... This is usually am when I go out, but when in woman mode I have my hair more made up, make up on, skirt, and breast forms... I really not sure if I have a guy mode anymore, honestly... whilst I am trying to be stealth at home because my parents don't know yet I am transitioning, and it kind of worries me.... my brother even tried to urge me to tell our parents in case they figure it out or actually walked in my bathroom (can tell looking at my room that a girl lives here) but I am just eh...I am still 6 months away from moving out and don't want the constant headache from them.  But like he said, they're pretty dense and probably wouldn't notice if I wore my breast forms and skirt around them....

Anyone else had this happen while in guy-ish mode?

I did a few times when I was still in guy mode and co works kept thinking I was a woman when they first met me. I went full time shortly after it was a huge confidence booster to have that happen.  Glad you had a real positive experience

Yes and that's when I knew it was time to start telling ppl what was going on because passing at all as a guy had pretty much run it's course.

I had it happen a couple of times before I went full time so I knew I was on thin ice.

Congatulation! It was so exilerating when it started happening to me so have fun enjoying it.

I have been in "me mode" a couple times and been "sir'd". The first time it happened I was confused by it. My hair was not particularly short, and I wasn't attempting to project any particular gender norm.

More recently, I was out with friends for a birthday and other than a purple tie and black pinstriped tilly hat, I wasn't attempting to project a male persona, just me. I was nouned properly and sir'd at least once, which made me happy. On the contrary, I deliberately attempted to present as male a week AFTER that and was highly disappointed that I got ma'am'd at least once.    Just goes to show, you can't always win! But to be fair, I have difficulty with my voice being high because I have hearing difficulties and my voice is structured to sing First Soprano!

Ah well, glad you had a good experience, Alexis! Good luck with your parents, hopefully their density will stay intact.

It's only happened to me once so far, but I'm really early on, anyway, and I have yet to publicly present. I had just left my first laser session, and had also just received my hormone recommendation from my therapist. It came from a store clerk. Needless to say, the experience was really validating, and felt very much like a bit of encouragement from the universe.

I've been mam'ed a couple of times, but I'm convinced it was always them being polite rather than it being me passing. Ironically I haven't been mam'ed since I started HRT almost 3 weeks ago.

Yeah, it's happened I guess.  But...in a rural setting, where the demands of life still frequently necessitate serious physical labor the girl-thing/guy-thing mode gets kinda blurred.  Basically in my area, if something kinda resembles a duck--it's assumed to be a duck. [Plus, out where I live, I'm afraid the gene pool has gotten a bit shallow.  Getting ma'am'ed isn't that hard out here, regardless of how one thinks they're presenting.]
