Haircut?

Ever since I came to the conclusion that I'm trans, I've been trying to make myself look masculine by wearing a hat to cover my long hair and wearing my binder, etc. Dressing like this actually gives me self confidence which I've practically never had in my life, but it's also caused me to be more dysphoric about how I look at school/work and such where I can't present as a male. I'm planning on getting a haircut soon but a coupe things are bothering me about it and preventing me from being able to get a haircut. I work at Chick-Fil-A which is probably one of the worst places to work as a person who wants to transition because of their strict policies, and I'm worried about how they would react if I got short hair. I really love my coworkers and everyone is so nice but I don't know if being more comfortable with myself would risk my job. In addition to that, I'm not really sure about what to ask about when I go to get my hair cut. My hair is really long right now and I'm worried about getting a bad haircut and not being able to fix it.
Here are some pictures for reference:

I can't imagine how you would cop flack from your employer for short hair. I mean I know what ChickAFilla is like but surely their strictness doesn't extend that far?

If you get a bad hair cut it can always be fixed by cutting it even shorter!

I dunno, maybe I'm just prone to worrying about stuff like this
If anyone has advice on possible haircuts I could get, I'd appreciate that!

When I'm looking for a haircut, I go onto pinterest and search. I think, last time I used something like androgynous cut.  Jennifer Lawrence's short cut come up a lot.

I used the website 'how to look like a hot dude' to give me ideas on how to cut my hair. It's written by a trans guy and does what it says on the tin.
They/them pronouns preferred.

I searched for androgynous haircuts to find a style that I liked.

You don't have to go super short at once, you could do it in stages and experiment with different lengths.

When I use to get my hair cut. I would go to hair cuttery and say #2 on the sides and back and short scissor cut on top. This would be a very short hair cut. So, starting you may want to go longer and over time go shorter and shorter.

I will not eat at Chic-Fil-A. The owner died so perhaps things will change. What are their employee HR policies toward LGBT?

Isn't chick fil a the place that's really religious and Republican to where they donate against same sex marrage?  Be careful!  I'll stick up for you, but doubt I could do anything from here:(

There was nothing during training they said regarding sexual orientation or anything but I heard that someone was rejected from an interview for being gay. I'm planning on getting a new job around the end of the year when I'm finished with high school but for now this is the best I can get, it's super close to where I live and I get paid 7.75 an hour.

I'm now planning on going to get my hair cut probably on the 20th, I won't have school for 2 weeks so I can have a chance to fix it if needed, I'll probably just say I'd like a pixie cut or something

This is awesome.

Draonth,

Def get the haircut. If you are not going to come out to C-f-A then an andro cut will likely work best. In any case, you look good with the shorter look.

Thanks for everyone's input! I found a picture I'll be using as a reference and I'll be going on the 23rd with some friends to get it done. I'll post a picture once that happens.

Update:

My friend says I pass really well now though I haven't really been in public much to see (also dealing with terrible bedhead for the first time)

Good job! When I first cut mine I went with something shaggy. Then slooooowly it started getting shorter and shorter. Now I'm shaved at a #2 all the way around except the top. Let us know if work says anything about it!

If you get a shaggy-ish hair cut with length on top, you can brush it forward to look more androgynous for wearing to work, and then push it back to go more masculine.

Also: You have a great face for androgyny.

So wa- *looks at picture* !!! WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU WORRIED ABOUT?!

You look like a very well groomed (and bored) mid to late teens guy. You really really do. You have this "Why did my mom get me this stupid pink I phone case for Christmas?" look. Smile next time! You have a lot to be happy about.

Based on that picture, I'd say all you need is a new phone case (maybe something black? Have fun! GET ONE WITH BAT MAN ON IT!) and maybe new glasses, only because I think the way the side of the hinges looks is slightly feminine and you seem like you want to be unmistakably seen as a guy.

Maybe some glasses with angles to emphasize angles within your face rather than rounded ones which emphasize rounded features like this?

I think you're off to a spectacular start, even if due to work you're stuck part time for the moment.

Merry Christmas, Draonth, you hansom hansom man. Knock 'em dead.

Thanks everyone! Work went well, my manager said literally nothing about it (didn't even comment on it) and I've been passing in public. The problem is I'm passing as a 10 year old and it makes me feel kinda bad. Like, I went to 7-11 to get some hot chocolate and paid with a 20 and the cashier said something like "Wow you've got a lot of money!" It feels really embarrassing and degrading. But I have been called sir and he which is nice.

Also: I'm getting new glasses sometime this week.
