Hey ladies, I'm getting ready to start HRT early next year. I am out to my wife and a few close friends and have started feminising my appearance with laser, clothing and skin care. I don't really plan to "come out" in any dramatic fashion. I don't really want to make any of my relationships about my gender identity but will be happy to honestly discuss it with coworkers etc when it comes up. Other than a few select family members I don't see any need for drama. Any thoughts on this?

Check your policies at work epically the diversity ones and make sure they cover you.  If not my suggestion would be to talk to your HR department at some point to let them know how you feel.  I did this as the state I am in doesn't have any gender identity protections and our diversity policy was a bit weak.  What I ended up getting was support from hr and a new diversity policy. Plus at the next department meeting the staff were informed that any discrimination would be met harshly.  Just my 2¢ though.

I work for a very large hospital system and I have heard about a couple of other nurses transitioning on the job so I don't believe it will be a problem. Thanks for the feedback
