Hi All,

I thought I would ask this question here because so many here are very familiar with hormones.  My wife is going through menopause and has been prescribed Premarin and Provera.  Lately she's been complaining about weight gain.  I wonder if she would be better off with estradiol and  prometrium.   I've suggested this to her, but she's really uncomfortable talking hormones with me and doesn't want to suggest it to the doctor.  What do you think?

I'm against Premarin, because I am against the Way it is produced. Estradiol is a bioidentical hormone, so it would most likely cause less side effects.

I think both hormones are detrimental to one's health and instead one should always take bio-identicals. The science behind it is quite strong and it just makes sense to take hormones that are native to our bodies vs not.

Thanks MissyMay and KayXo,  I will try again to discuss this with her again.   It's a really weird discussion for her with me knowing more about it then her.  She does not want me to transition and discussing hormones just makes her very uncomfortable but I agree with you both, bio-identicals are the way to go.
