Artificial Sperm and Egg Cells Created From Skin Cells

Using human stem cells, researchers have created precursors to egg and sperm -- called primordial germ cells -- in a petri dish. Until this work, published in Cell today, the feat has only been achieved using rodent stem cells.

I'm not entirely sure if this could be helpful in creating the proper reproductive cells for us trans* folk, but here's hoping. With all the other recent developments in this area, I'm more than hopeful about what the future has in store for us.
