For anyone who gets their bloodwork done through labcorp, how long does it tend to take you to get your results?

My first set, my doctor called me about them two weeks after the blood was drawn, which seemed reasonable to me.
This time though
One month. I got the blood taken one month ago. There's no way this is normal. My doctor still hasn't RECEIVED my bloodwork, let alone reviewed it.

Best course of action? Talk to my doctor, call labcorp, what? I need these results before I go back to school, which is in a little over a week.

Anyways I'm super pissed off about this because that is a completely unreasonable amount of time. And I only go to them because I HAVE to. As in, they're the only people who seem to be able to successfully draw my blood.

Normally 2 weeks is what it takes for results but you must remember that there have been holidays recently and as such they may be understaffed in either the LabCorp office or the doctor office.

Maybe the results were misplaced? I'd call LabCorp and then the doctor. Just to check.

Oh and btw you might want to check into other labs/blood draw services since any lab tech who draws a lot of blood should be able to stick you properly.

I myself have horrid veins for blood draws and IVs. They had to try a total of 8 times once....and I wasnt dehydrated. One thing I always do to ensure an easier blood draw is to drink a bottle of water on the way to and while waiting for them to call me back. Maybe that will help you too.

Call your doc-- they might not have gotten the results even if they're back.  The whole lab-result-delivery system depends on computers, usually, and so it's not terribly reliable.

I do all that already. Drink water all day the day before then go in in the morning with a water bottle. LabCorp so far has only taken one or two tries max, but if I go to my doctor they have done 6+ and eventually just told me to go home and try again later. The doctor only told me about LabCorp, never told me of any other options, so I'll do some research, but every single person I've asked in my area uses LabCorp or their doctor's office, so I'm not sure. But I'm in a city so there SHOULD be another option somewhere.

I gave them that at around 3 weeks, but it seems to me one month is just out of line. some of the things people are testing for are much more time sensitive! I figured it would take a little longer than normal, especially since I went in right before thanksgiving, but the fact that my Christmas break is 6 weeks long, you'd think that with a doctor's appointment the day I got home, I'd have my results WELL before I go back to school, but I guess not. But it does make me mad that my dad goes to LabCorp too and he usually gets his results within a week, and I think he gets the same tests done as me, if not more- so why do mine always take forever?

They get theirs delivered by mail I think, idk how involved computers are on LabCorp's end

I use labcorp, I am actually registered online with them. About 2 days after blood draw my doctor has results, then I get notified the day after my doctor has my results via email. I then log into my labcorp account and view my own results. :D

Maybe it would be of benefit to register online then. I'll try anything to get my results in a more reasonable amount of time.

Just so you know, once you sign up you will get a copy of every lab they have done since going to lapcorp. I only say this since I had about 7 blood tests so far and got a copy of each one after signing up, except for the last one cause I had done it that same day, but I got a copy of it on the 3rd day after blood draw.

You can always call labcorp and ask them why you or your doctor have not received results. That could potentially be dangerous. I only say this cause with me, they were ruling out other diseases before starting T. I had high Cortisol levels in my blood tests, but for me it was the cause of too much stress. And for that draw it only took 2 days. I also live in a big city so yeah.

The tests were usually done the second day when the sample was drawn and they sent the results to my provider right away. My provider would send the results in a day or two to me depending on how busy she is, or she would just discuss the results with me if there is an appointment very soon.

It's starting to sound like the LabCorp in my area suck compared to the others. I don't think I know anyone here who gets results in a few days. I'll definitely see about registering online next time, so at least I can see my tests all in one place.

To register just go online to labcorps website register with their microsoft account, verify your email and in about 2 hours you will have all previous results or maybe even your current one. Good Luck!

Wow I have never had labs take more than 2 days. I usually get a call from the doctor the next day if something is up. However I use quest as my insurance contracts with them.
