I'm considering changing my name and I was just curious about what others thought of the two names I currently like the best.

I feel like the names Jayden (and all those names that rhyme with that one) are really overused. And I love the name Miles.

I would go with Miles basically because of what AbeLane said. They're really popular in the FTM community for some odd reason but if you like that one the best then by all means.

I agree with Abe Lane.  Jayden is a cool name and it sounds good when paired with Allen, but it is just so darn trendy right now.  I like Miles Allen.

I too like the name Miles.

I love the name Jayden and I think Jay sounds more masculine than Miles

Another thing you might want to consider is naming trends.  It definitely isn't something that matters to everybody, but some names are very popular in a certain specific generation, and seem a bit out of place in people from different age cohorts.  Jayden and names like it are very popular with children born in the last 10 years, but it would be a very uncommon name for anyone older than their late teens.  Miles is getting more popular, but hasn't been in the top 100 anytime in the last 50 years.  (check out http://www.ssa.gov/OACT/babynames/#ht=2)

That sort of thing definitely shouldn't make or break a name, but if you aren't really attached to one name or another, and you worry about blending with the mainstream, Jayden is much more of a flag for a self-chosen name than Miles would be.

Would fifteen be young enough to not raise flags? Because Jayden was what my parents were going to name me if I was a guy. Though at this point I'm leaning towards Miles, I'm still curious.

Awesome!  Actually, I think at 15 it would be an appropriately cutting-edge name.  I was picturing a Jayden my age, and wincing a bit-- I'm 34.

If my parents had a guy name picked out, that's probably what I'd go with.  We didn't get to choose our own names the first time around, after all.  I know some cis folks who've changed their names when they became estranged from their parents, and many trans people go through this as well.  In my case, I'd like to continue to honor my family through my name.  Unfortunately, my parents never picked a boy's name (they didn't know I was a "girl," they just hoped.  And that's a whole lot of drama waiting to happen. . .)  My father and grandfather are both named "Warren", but my father had no intention of continuing the tradition and he discouraged me from giving the name to my son. 

So in your case, I think Jayden/Jay would do at least as well as Miles.  And, honestly, a lot of why I like "Miles" is because of a certain science fiction character by that name

Absolutely.  Jayden for a 15 year old is keeping in with the times.  For your age, I do like the name Jayden better than Miles, personally.

It is hard (when giving advice about names or lots of things), when someone doesn't put their age in their profile/post (people under 18 are allowed to state their age here now).  I too assumed you were older, so that is why I was worried about the name, Jayden. 

Miles sounds more sophisticated.
