I've been off and on Susans mamany times over the last 14 years. This is the first place I turned to when, at age 14, I realized I needed to talk to someone about my "problem". Since then I have come and gone, but now that I am finally closing in on the chance to get things under way, I am back.

I came out to my parents this tine last year. Neither took it very well, and most of the family just pretends it never hapoened. Kind of a "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" sort of thing. I have found a few local trans friends, both FtM like myself, and met an amazing mtf transgirl who has completely stolen my heart. These people make it all worth putting up with.

At any rate, I have come back for research, support, and general question asking purposes.

Hi Aeryn,

A big Aussie welcome back to Susan's family. It's good of you to drop in again and say "Hi". Hope you like it here, and you stay for a while longer this time. No pressure, only if you like. I did the same thing years ago. Stayed away for over 10 years. (Silly me)

There is a mountain of information, resources and friendship waiting for you here, you just need to jump in start talking and ask any question you like. You're quite safe here and we are very accepting.

Sad you're family have taken that path. They're the overall losers, not having a beautiful son like you around. It sound like the real winner is you. Accepting yourself IS the most important part of this journey. What others think is totally their business. They're not living in your body, and until such time as they are, they have no right to judge you. You're in control, keep it that way.

Looking forward to hearing more of your story in time to come, but in the meantime, be safe, well and happy.

Lotsa huggs
Catherine

It's awesome that you have some real life trans friends to talk to stuff about, but I agree this is a great place to come to for support and advice.
