Okay so i thought i would share my only bathroom tip for the transmen here who are like me pre t and pre op or the pre op guys. We all know using the mens room can be hard if you are like me and dont pass 100% (my height and femine face gives me away). Carry tp with you!! I recently got caught when another man heard me pee then automatically get toliet paper which the roll is loud as usual. So now i bring some with me and it does make it so i don't get caught (i was lucky the man was kind and understanding)  but using the mens room can be dangerous if younare caught. Just thought I would share this tip i have...

Am confused.. How can sounds give you away or is this asking for to much info xD?

its actually a good question. its only happened to me once but peeing makes noise, and i peed then automatically got tp which the roll thingy makes a lot of noise. and i got caught, the guy knew i had well a vagina. if you dont time yourself you can get caught, well in my case not for everyone. but still can happen

I get what you mean, because yeah, I don't think any cis guys wipe after peeing. I'm more worried about the sound of the peeing itself rather than whatever I'm doing with the toilet paper. Usually I just don't care though, and assume nobody is paying attention. I've never had any trouble in the men's room. What did the guy say to you?? If anyone 'catches' you again, shoot them a confused look and say you were blowing your nose or putting toilet paper down to avoid splash... lol

The guy just said is there a woman in here. So i came out all shy and was like no just me  then he kept looking at me and my boyfriend came to save me and the man kindly asked if i was trans which i replied yes. And he was oh you had me co fused.

Rachel

I use TP when I first enter a stall and clean the seat just in case. Then because I am small I have to used TP after I pee.

Well I don't know but I always used toilet paper. I don't know how the sound could be different of peeing but I do realize that women almost grab the toilet toll and pull it off by so much. I dunno why xD.

So when I pee I can get caught by the sound? How does that work D:?

When you're trans, nobody ever teaches you the ins and outs of using the bathroom. Most of us are a wizard at this by third grade. So as somebody who used to be a guy, here's what'cha gotta do.

Be as obnoxious in the bathroom as possible. Heckle any guy who's taking a dump. Make plenty of comments about the color and smell of your pee. Fart as loudly as possible, and make comments about that, too. Climb the stall walls. Flush the urinals repeatedly, just enough to fill them to the brim, but not enough to make them overflow. See how long you can maintain this waterline. And if there is a guy taking a dump when you leave, be sure to turn off the lights.

Follow these steps, and nobody will EVER question your gender in the bathroom.

Short answer is that if you are only going to pee in the guys, just remember that guys shake off the drip, girls have to wipe, so using TP after a pee means you had to wipe!

Mugwort: LMAO I will have to try that some time!

I can understand that some guys don't wipe. Trust me that a lot do tho. I live at home still with two men who are really.. Men. They both use toilet paper. I think the difference is that men just grab a tiny bit of paper because you barely need any and woman need more so grab a lot.

Really, men use toilet paper too, lol.

I've used tp after peeing in the men's, even as a "man."

there may be other tip offs I think.

The biggest thing is to be confident.

most men pee standing up. That is impossible for you right now unless you get bottom surgery or use a prosthetic. Men and women also sound a bit different when they pee sitting. Men are more of a spray, women are more of a "tinkle." I have two daughters and a son, and they go in sequence so I know lol.

Be discreet but be confident and you'll have fewer issues.

Males peeing can sound louder and less 'trickly', as the stream is generally unbroken (labia in the way can make it trickle etc). Though I think the louder sound is mostly due to guys usually standing to pee, so if someone with a penis was sitting to pee I think it would be quiet enough to not raise any eyebrows.

Who knows, we might be overanalysing this and no cis people actually think about the sound of strangers peeing! haha

I always use the toilet paper (and have heard guys doing the same stuff too, btw). I mean, shaking " if off" can rarely be enough or it never worked for me so toilet paper comes in handy :).
But... if You are afraid of making a different sound when peeing in stall and You do not have STP (I believe it is called so?), I have another tip - just grab a bit of toilet paper before and throw it in, then pee "on top of it"- there is literally no sound and it helps to prevent water splashes.

I think it would be pretty strange if he was that tuned in to the sounds you were making in the stall. Could there have been a chance he saw your feet under the stall and thought you were a guy until he heard you? There's a lot of bathroom etiquette behind which stalls and urinals guys use (example: if there are open urinals don't use the one right next to another guy, if you're using a stall don't use the very first one, use courtesy flushes in a public restroom, etc.) Maybe a combination of broken bathroom etiquette rules tipped him off rather than just the sounds. Him asking if you were trans also probably meant that he's familiar with trans guys so maybe that's how he knew. It's good that he was cool about it but you have to be careful because other guys might ask the same question but be looking to give you a hard time about it.

When I sit in the ladies room I have to find ways to make mine sound as loud as a cis women's actually. I don't know if its because it's super close to the water, but I've noticed it definitely sounds different. As for wiping, pretty much can wipe with 2-3 sheets of toilet paper. We probably do over analyze because I've never had a bathroom incident so far.

Until the fight breaks out, this is pretty accurate:

All with sll. I think you got caught because you felt insecure about it. I doubt many people bother to listen at anothers way of peeing to see if it is masculine or feminine xD.

Pretend you're watching porn and jerking off. Screen lock your phone loudly before you flush. Some loud flatulence helps too. That will pretty much mimic the sounds commonly heard in men's bathrooms.  ;D
