Back the last few days of December I started very low dose E.  On January 3rd I woke up with a splitting headache and "spots" on my face that got red and crusty.  I had the shingles vaccine over a year ago so this couldn't be.  Um...  I was able to get into a doctor on January 6th and got the word it is shingles.

Is this in any way related to starting E, or am I just snakebit?

For anyone that wonders you do NOT want shingles...

Gosh, no you don't want shingles at all.

I had a close call a few years back, noticed the start of the outbreak (on the back of my neck of all places) and went to the doc the next day and since it had only just started she was able to prescribe an anti-viral that killed it cold. I was under a lot of stress at the time (grandmother had just passed away) and that was the likely trigger. Seems unlikely the HRT was a catalyst for you.

Yes.  This is the same virus.  And is 100% YUCK.

I was totally caught flatfooted by this as I expected the vaccine to have provided protection.  It didn't.

At least it's not the E - I really want the E!
