So 100% silicone sealants on your packer.  Is this a really bad idea? I'm so fed up with my Peecock and just want to make this rim around the edge to help keep things from... spilling.

They make medical grade silicone sealents.

I suppose you could try, but my experience is new silicone will NOT stay adhered to old silicone.

We use aviation grade silicone at work, with a primer to clean the surfaces. With the primer it's permanent, you have to cut or scrape it apart. Without the primer it's likely to pull off in one piece. I'm sure medical grade silicone behaves the same.

You can definitely try this. I think the dry and clean is really important workign with silicone, which is tricky and unforgiving.
