I tried buying online but found that was a bit hit and miss (mostly miss). Are you near a major city that might make it easier for people to recommend specific shops.

They changed their name and used to be Barefoottess, if I recall correctly. You can now find them here:

They have some pretty nice shoes :D!

Google Janet's Closet. They have 14 and 15 in men sizes there.

Thank  you for your suggestions. I live in New England. I can be in New York or Boston with in 3 hours. I have been to Glamour Boutique in Auburn,MA.  They were nice. I wanted some more options.

Payless has been my best choice for size so far.   I'm smaller, a size 10, but have seen the larger sizes on the store shelving.   You can shop online but it's best to go to the store and see what they have in stock.

They have some very pretty shoes at reasonable prices that won't hurt your wallet.   The only trouble I have is walking out with more than one pair every time I go.

Oh well, shoes, shoes and more shoes.

You poor soul!  :'(  I'm an 11 and am 6ft tall. It seems like there is a rule among shoe companies that anything larger than a Size 10 must be both Butt Ugly and 4" heel minimum. I don't know how you can design butt ugly flats but it sure seems like they all manage it.

About the best I've found Layne Bryant on-line I've gotten shoes from also that were nice. No surprises with the sizing.  I haven't been to DSW Shoes but on-line they have larger sizes. A bit too pricey for my current needs and budget

In most stores it seems anything over a size 10 is rare. A bit like clothes in 12 or larger I suspect. I wonder what the "average" woman's shoe size is these days? I haven't noticed any vanity sizing trend for shoes like with clothes. In real life I am "supposed" to be a 12-14 and actually was 30 years ago. These days I have Size 8's in my closet! And my measurements have not changed for the better. Just no need for additional padding  ;D

I too go to Payless shoes.  We have one store that carries the larger sizes, up to 13w.  The trick is finding that store in your area.  As for styles, they're pretty much the same style as the smaller sizes.  I've got two pair of Karmen pumps, one in red and the other in patent black, that have 3" heels.  I found my store by shopping online, then looking for my shoes in store.  I know it's not what you asked for, but have you considered Zappos.com?  I understand they're really good with free returns for any reason.  You could also look for a local mom-and-pop specialty shoe store.

I've used Amazon quite a bit. Im picky though, not as many styles in my size as I'd like.

I've found quite a few shoes on Zappos.com, have bought them yet. I'll be trying them next when I've got more money in my shoe budget.

I checked out Janets Closet, and it seems okay, price wise and size availability, but I'm wary of shopping at a store advertised for cross-dressing.  I guess because I don't feel like I'm cross-dressing.  I'm finally buying the right clothes!  I'm just a big ol' girl.  But so are many of the women in my family.
