I'm at art school now and there are equal numbers of male and female people with dyed hair. Also the dye won't come out now. Like I can't get it to wash out even if I wanted, red is hard to get rid of.
Also, my hairline isn't masculine enough to put my bangs up. That's why they're down :/ It's changing but it's still not masculine enough at all.

If that's the case, then it could be your voice and how you speak. It's not enough to have a deep voice. And I thought that too about my hairline but my recent haircut and keeping my hair away from my face made a world of difference in passing. Some people in my own building don't recognize me anymore.

Anyways, it's all a matter of what's important: passing to others or just portraying yourself how you want. If people say ma'am, you can just correct them. :)

I'm the short one here :) pre t in the picture but I look the same now anyways.
I don't get misgendered that often but I get mistaken for being much younger than my age. (19)

Dragonbeer.  Excellent choice on the hair gel.  You are becoming quite the handsome guy!

Dean, I remember your old pictures (or at least one) and I am confident in saying that your face looks more masculine now.  I concur with Dragon, you can't do anything that people could perceive as female until you pass (hair color, earrings).  Even if guys do it, our subconscious hit female first as soon as we see it.  THEN we look at bit to decide if the person is male or female.

I think I look more male when I sweep my hair back too even though my hairline is female still.  I do know though that convention is to tell guys to keep hair on their forehead.

Thanks Kam, I appreciate the input! I'm gonna keep my pic up for just a bit longer incase anyone has any suggestions for passing with dyed hair.

...dying your hair in artificial colors is generally regarded as a female thing.
This is something I struggle with because I have bleached a streak of my hair. It's reduced my passing level but as long as I'm confident nobody questions me :p

Dean, you pass to me with no problem though. Your face is really masculine. Though I would have to also weigh your mannerisms and how you speak if I were to judge in person.

Maleth, you are going to be a really hot dude when you get on testosterone.  That chin is going to get so chiseled you will be able to...I don't know what to say here...cut glass?  Anyway, I think your face shape will look like society's definition of very masculine.

Hello everyone! I am currently a little over 4 months on T and I've had more and more problems passing.

Wow Dean I think you look great. Congrats! Your face is turning out well.

I agree voice might contribute. Also, you may not pass cause I could see how someone could assume butch lesbian at first given trendy hair and hoodies. Especially at an art school....

Don't worry about it, give it time.

I'm about 3 months on T. I don't usually try to smile in pictures because it makes me feel more feminine/younger, but I kind of liked this one.

Ah I can't believe I'm actually posting something here... I don't think I pass at all, not trying very hard to right now either, but.. you guys think I could possibly pass?

Will probably take this photo down in a while..

I think you actually look like ... a normal guy :). I wish I could mould my face to look as masculine :D.
Is this the haircut you mentioned? I'm wondering if a bit of gel might help with it!

Edit: maybe style it a bit like this: https://encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQ3LYjbBxrX3qdp3dJeP0RhhYlWHst1zazwndg8GrOQj_Vi7hh5

Hello everyone! I am currently a little over 4 months on T and I've had more and more problems passing. I feel like my face is pretty masculine but I've asked my friends if they can see anything. I don't know if they're trying to save my feelings or not (I told them be harsh) but they keep saying that my build is so masculine that they really have no idea how anyone sees girl and they all thought I was cis until I told them. So I figured you guys would be able to be harsher on me than them. These are the two things I'm usually wearing.

you look pretty masculine to me in all honesty...especially compared to your icon. i agree with comments above, stick to your natural hair color.

Thanks guys xD yeah this is the haircut that's stressing me out so much, though this is right after a shower it's the best it looks I guess, but I haven't experimented much with styling it, I probably should. My voice is pretty feminine I would say :( though people tell me it's neither particularly feminine nor masculine. Now if only I could lose some of my cheeks..

Thanks and yeah I know my glasses are a bit too wide. These were the best that I tried on, but I don't think my face suits wearing glasses.

Looking good, Elis! I also think the glasses are OK (I know how difficult it is to find a good pair [emoji13] )

Man, you look fantastic with that new haircut!
It really does compliment your facial structure

The glasses aren't BAD although there's probably better frames somewhere, for now they're not detrimental at all!
